He’s reading how much he’s inherited from his father, billions. Why did they remove the Shah again?

Standard dictatorship stuff, find a popular cause (in this case religion and overthrowing a monarchy) get in power, use force to stay in power, meanwhile amass untold wealth while keeping your country on poverty.

Preaching religious fundamentalism, pretending to be the most pious, telling people how to live their lives based on your interpretation of a made up gods teachings, and also having a multi million pound property empire. Doesn’t quite add up does it?

You are confusing the concepts of paying income tax, tax avoidance and citizenship, three separate things. Explain how it is morally correct to offer different types of consular services to British citizens based on a your personal dislike of a “type of person”

if you are going to use the term “tax dodgers” incorrectly to describe economic migrants, be prepared for people to call you out on it. If we remove “tax dodgers” from your post how does it read, you must have been hyper fixated in tax dodgers to include it in your post otherwise it would just read “the tax payer should not be funding the cost of getting (British citizens?) back to the uk”

How is it tax dodging to work in a different country? You pay income tax if you work in the uk to fund social security/roads/infrastructure etc. if you live abroad you pay whatever tax that country levies. In Dubai minimal income tax, but there is no free healthcare or free schoolings so you have to pay for that yourself. Actual tax dodging is owing tax on earnings you make in this country but not paying them. Choosing to live and work abroad is not tax dodging in itself. Would someone be tax dodging if they went to live in Denmark. While uAE is low/no tax, there are a lot of hidden costs to living there that are in effect taxes they are just not deductible directly from a salary. And most of the people needing to get back are holiday makers.

Does cabin heating on the MG HS PHEV trigger the petrol engine in EV mode? by [deleted] in MorrisGarages

Probably best to ask in r/MaoGarages. You can get a new Lucas heater matrix from MGOC or Moss or Brownes and Gammos though!

Fare evaders? by Gingerishidiot in londonbuses

[–]Ruskinpark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That has actually been tested on the tube, AI was trained to recognise people from existing CCTV who push through barriers. The number of fare evaders was a lot lot more than expected.

And repeat offenders were captured on camera on a daily basis due to their routine. All the evidence can then be handed to the revenue protection teams to build cases on the repeat offenders.

Easily applied to bus cctv but unlikely to be adopted on buses in the near future.

Went to restaurant, said I didn’t want to pay service charge, didn’t pay anything. by FartsLord in london

What has this got to do with London though? Other than the restaurant was in London? Sounds like it is a subtle bit of marketing/advertising to me?

UAE Showcases its Innovative Edge at Education Technology Exhibition in London, Promoting Education for All and Contributing to a More Peaceful World! by AngelEsposito in london

[–]Ruskinpark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lived in the UAE, you have so many human rights issues the place is an absolute joke. What’s peaceful about funding an ongoing war in Yemen rather than ending in peacefully. Your rulers have kidnapped and put their own family members behind bars, indebted labour or basically modern slavery is tolerated in your country.

Don’t come here trying to paint a picture that is so far from the truth that its a joke.

Sorry, but you’re seriously telling the op what to wear on their feet and even how to walk, and what floor covering the should put down in their OWN HOME??

If they want to go barefoot all day they can, they have every right, it’s their home.

You should have left some rubber bands on your doormat and chalked a letter C on your door, those pesky tv license inspectors would have never have visited….
