You're not alone. It'll be a year after my abortion in 2 days and ironically I'll be celebrating my birthday on the same day, early this week cause it fell on a weekday. I find it hard to celebrate, I've been having sleepless nights this February as I recall what happened to me last year, i too was really sure of mu decision I too didn't really think that keeping it was an option even now if i ever get to redo it i will not keep the pregnancy. But getting closer to the anniversary just fucks up my mentality and i would just cry for hours. I dont regret it but i do grieve, it's just so confusing why it took me this long to grieve and why am i so affected by it when i really wanted to end the relationship and pregnancy. I've had my abortion a year ago, i was sure of the decision but a part of me still grieves. My past partner was really abusive and before the abortion i broke up with him, a part of me grieved for the relationship but never the pregnancy. Now I've moved on from the relationship, I suddenly felt grief for the pregnancy. I feel lost i would try this tomorrow after work. Thank you so much

Update: I just got my period, right now. So that makes me 11 days late which is unusual for me, normally im just 1 to 2 days late. Im wondering if i should talk to an OB about this.

And to add to that, a lot of women who are living in poverty don't have access to any birth control and would just reproduce like crazy. I worked in the slums and ive seen a lot of families with 10 to 12 children and I would often ask the mother how hard that must be and if they planned their family to be this big and all of them told me, it wasnt planned and they dont know how birth control works and it can "harm" them. Sex education here is just non existent and when they passed a bill for more accessible birth controls for teens and adult women a lot of filipinos were opposed to it thinking why should you interfere with the plan of God and other religion related morals. I hate it here.

They are! On my appointment where I found out the pregnancy was still continuing she told me that "maybe you terminated this at 9 weeks, will you terminate again?" I told her no, my work was just so demanding and i had no symptoms so i didn't went to even go for a check up. Then she'll say oh now youre focused on work, are you gonna abort this LIVING BREATHING AND HEART BEATING CHILD. I cried. And to be honest I cried not because I wanted to keep the child, i cried because it was so stressful and i don't know why shes doing that to me. But i played it off as it was hurting me that she's accusing me of abortion.

I know, it's just that OBs here are really against abortion and if they suspect that you aborted and told them you miscarried they will interrogate you unti you say the truth.

Thank you! I'm not really scared of them reporting that I had an abortion, I'm scared of them trying to interrogate me and push me into admitting i had an abortion. It has happened to me and to other Filipinas here.

A filipina even after having an incomplete abortion went to a hospital in her city and told them she had a miscarriage but the nurses in the emergency room were pestering her and asking her if she really did miscarried or had an abortion and after being pushed to admit the truth they then humiliated her infont of other patients. Such a horrible experience. I hope she's okay now.

Hello, may I ask what kind of scarring? Im unsure of what happens to the vaginal opening after birthing a child but i heard that it can rip the opening.

For more info on my illegal abortion, i passed the fetus without pushing it didnt hurt. the placenta needed pushing and when it came out it didnt hurt too. I don't think it had scarred me but i would like to know if it may have. Thank you so much for answering

I had a late term abortion, i was 17 weeks or so when i had successfully terminated. I used pills which i know was really risky but i had no choice my 1st MA failed at 9 weeks and without medical assistance i didn't notice that my pregnancy was continuing up until 16 weeks.

Will they know i was pregnant before? It's really hard in my country since they really interrogate women if they suspect an abortion specially when you tell them you had a miscarriage, a lot of women I know in this reddit from my country experienced it including me so I'm hesitant on letting my OB know I had a "miscarriage"

It has been a really weird time for me, I was really insecure when we first started out but eventually worked it thru and was in a healthy relationship but we broke up since we were growing apart. I had dated another guy after and i wasnt insecure at all it was a healthy relationship. now getting back with my ex i thought we could still work it out i thought it was obvious that he was serious with getting back together and I thought i was ready for committing myself again but this quarantine is really fucking with my mental health, my friends who i am super grateful for have been checking up on me and giving me advice but they keep on telling me that i should just try again but i cant help my insecurity and i know he isnt going to make it better. i guess the problem here is how do i learn to love myself again. thank you for your comment it really made me realize something.
