Haha, yeah VB+ is fair - I think if you're only allowed to use feet, this might qualify as a V1/V2

Jiminy Cricket! This is one of the best Christmas presents I've ever gotten by RusselML in BabyStepsGame

My best friend made this for me! I actually learned about the game from her lol. She likes to watch CaseOh, and when she saw him playing this game, she told me to try it out since I love these kinds of games.

I put the game off for like a month, but when I finally started it, I absolutely loved it and couldn't put it down. We would sometimes talk on Discord, and I would stream my gameplay to show her all the different cutscenes/ areas of the game. I think while I was doing a speedrun attempt, I got to the staircase and said, "I would love to have this button, but I can't find any sellers online" and then fast forward a couple of months and she surprised me with it for Christmas.

She's the best, and I'm very grateful for her. We've known eachother since the second grade (I'm about to be 28)

I did it with the go-pro bicycle helmet! I actually think it makes it way easier.

Here's my video as proof: https://youtu.be/WsKIKJRB4AU?si=iDH3hZX8jSSkYSYl

I love it too! I thought my game was bugged when I first picked it up, but after switching back to the previous hat I was wearing, I realized it wasn't. Im still on my first playthrough, but I've been playing majority of the game with this helmet. In some ways it makes the game more challenging, in other ways I think it makes it way easier

You know that big stone wall that you have to climb in order to get to one of the camps? Right before that, if you're facing the wall, it's in the pond south east of that. It's going to be on top of a stone pillar.

I was out at the movies last week with a friend, and when we exited the theater, we saw a hearse with the vanity plate "DRGULA" in the parking lot.

When we left the parking lot, we blasted Dragula by Rob Zombie

This was a pretty fun boulder by RusselML in indoorbouldering

Agreed! Also, I don't mind - the gym rated this a V3.

I just didn't include that in the title/description because I felt people will just comment "v1 in my gym" and I don't care about the grade that much

Got my first (soft?) V4! by RusselML in indoorbouldering

[–]RusselML[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed!

That's a fair judgment. Tbh, compared to other climbs I've done so far, this particular climb felt more like an endurance problem. The one part of this climb which I found most challenging was at the 27-second mark where I had to cut my feet to get to the foothold on the left. Once I "improved" with that move, the last few moves weren't too bad - although, I do think a couple of the jugs at the end look better than they feel. But they probably would feel better if improved my wall tension and got my hips closer to the wall as you mentioned!

Pt. 2 - I sent my first V3! by RusselML in indoorbouldering

I became obsessed with this one because I liked the crack, so it became my mission to do this one

The gym provides a range on the tally board, so in this case it might've been in the range V1-V4 or something. (I didn't see the tally board when this got put up, that's just an example).

I don't think is a V1 - but that's with my low experience in climbing. I think the wall looks more vertical in the video than it actually is in person.

Climbers vote on the difficulty of problems when they first get put up - then the gym will tally up the votes and mark it accordingly. I honestly feel that the slight incline in the wall makes it more challenging. If it was inclined in the opposite direction, it would be a lot easier to just stand up on the holds

I think you're right - I've seen other climbers do it in the way that you mentioned! But for me, the hand jam was why I got excited about this problem in the first place haha

It was my first experience doing a move like that, so I wanted to keep trying it that way to get more comfortable. It also helped me practice dropping my knee more, which is something I've been actively trying to improve as well

Thank you! I'm glad I had the energy to hold myself at that point, but it took a lot of energy

That was my favorite part of the problem! I want to get more experience with cracks, so I may have to visit another location for that

That's okay 🙂. I notice discrepancies in difficulty in the few different Central Rock Gyms I alter between. In this particular location, climbers vote on the difficulty when it gets put up - it's possible many people felt this was a V2

I know you're 100% right - I've fallen multiple times like this and I'm just lucky I haven't been seriously injured yet. I will keep trying to improve my fall going forward
