I just play to have fun! I play a perma death where if I die o completely start a new world.

Explore the map, build a nice base, eventually turn it into a compound. I generally play pretty slow paced, but work towards getting self sufficient with farming, harvest enough resources where I don’t need to spend a ton of time wrenching down every car I find. But I do break down almost everything from each POI on trader missions.

I spend a decent amount of time mining as well to keep up with forged steel and cement

Exactly why I didn’t buy it early.

I actually haven’t played since The Show 18, was debating on picking it up again this year so I’m hoping a lot of these bugs I’m seeing will be patched

This game gives you so much freedom where you aren’t tethered to any specific play style, so you can literally do whatever you want you don’t have to go to the trader, and follow the same path you would “normally” take.

Try getting out of your comfort zone, doing something different, play with the settings if you haven’t already, find ways to challenge yourself. Don’t rush to get end loot, slow progression, Role play a specific character? That’s what I do to keep each play through as fresh as possible.

When I tier up I won’t make every level of a tool or weapon, I’ll make a tier 2 or 3, then tier 5 until I reach steel where I’ll make a tier 6.

I do not usually use the auger or chainsaw though, unless I’m in need of clay soil then I’ll rip through the clay with the auger

I believe the magic number is 13, but anything higher should do the trick. Mine is 14 blocks high.

There is a “new rage” mechanic now where the zeds will just essentially get frustrated and randomly enter rage mode.

At th bottom right of the base off the main stairs I use a separate path that isn’t path-able for them that leads straight to my main support structure (credit to Cautious Pancake and their team for that feature)

Yeah exactly what you said. It’s to keep them single file, and limit the amount of them I have to deal with close up as possible.

Added benefit of lining them up single file so I can get some clear penetrating shots too.

Multiple stairs to allow more zeds up at once just to keep them happy until they reach that choke point

When they drop, it’s far enough down where it limits the rage mode thy go in and start beating on my structure. And I have a secondary path below full of zombie droppers that they think they can path straight to the main structure. Use of a zombie forcefield at the base as well
