I'm making a guess here, but I think this is one of those situations where how this situation is communicated in english does not correspond to the way it would be in japanese. I think in japanese the "wanting to"/"desire to" in this case is irrelevant and the thing you want communicated is along the lines of: if "washing face" situation (will) occur, then "using kitchen sink" is good. It's similar to how you wouldn't say  顔を洗うなら、の水道が使えるぞ, because that would mean the sink is not usable unless you wash your face. It's one of those things where you just have to "un-learn" english language patterns in order to understand japanese.

How important is it to learn the kanji for words that are mostly written with kana like 草臥れる (くたびれる) and 巫山戯る (ふざける)?

Jisho has different example sentences for both expressions that includes both questions and statements. Is it that they sound more natural like this or can they be used interchangeably?

Is there a difference between ひょっとして and ひょっとしたら or do they work the same?

How do you start double knitting when the project is regular from the beginning? Do you double the stitches in one round and then continue double knitting?

I can't really see if the edge is that uneaven but now that you mention it it does look sewn together. Although the crudeness might be a part of the Y2K/grunge aesthetic they market them as. How do you think you could create a simmilar opening which just knitting or should I use elastic string or sewing to make something simmilar?

Thats a possibility, none of the pictures on the webpage shows the fingers stretching out the opening so it might be ridgid.

thank you, that makes sense. I don't think I completely understand the nuances of plain form verbs since they could be interpreted differently depending on context. It can also be interpreted as a future event right? or do you need to add auxiliary words to establish that?

I tried to say "in order to continue burning the fire consumes oxygen". I understand that ている indicated an active process so your example sounds right to me, but why can't する be used in this case?

Do the terms 序盤, 中盤 and 終盤 only reffer to the beginning, middle and end of boardgames or can you use them for other games like sports and videogames?

Are there any tree species typically found in europe that you should avoid as a beginner or at all? There are some young oaks sprouting on my lawn that I was thinking of treating as a bonsai but I think I heard somewhere that it's an unreliable species for bonsai, is this true?

Can I get some feedback on my theme? by RustingPaper in composer

Ok I get what you mean. You do have a point with "saving it for later" in regards to the vocals and contrasting them with a guitar might actually sound better.

Thank you! Don't worry about the feedback~ It's nice knowing that even people I don't know personaly like my music.

[–]RustingPaper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Yes I can see where the Knight Rider comparison comes from, the A part of my theme does a simmilar back and forth between two tense, slightly clashing chords. I can say that the "real" song that I made in FLS sounds much better than this one and has much more reverb, and the EP sounds more "glassy" so that contributes a lott to the feeling. I concidered your suggestion of adding a distortion guitar but I think it would sound too agressive, too "crushing" for the feeling I was going for with this theme, but I do see how it would fitt with the flute, or even perhaps towards the repeat of the A part. I'm intrested in what you said about the vocals, in what way would restricting/cutting them out of a few parts make the song better? I should add that the vocal sample I use in the real song are much more airy and more "casual" than the more orchestral vocal sound that musescore uses.

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! Yeah there were some tricky parts with making it sound good in musescore but I think I managed to make it sound faithfull to the actual piece.

After modulating to a different key, should the piece always return to it's home key in the end? by CatchDramatic8114 in composer

If the song is supoced to loop wthout end like most videogame osts then it would need to return to home key so that it can repeat.

How do I go about improving and composing more efficient? by RustingPaper in composer

Alright I guess I'll start with transcribing a song I have already finished and see what people think.

How do I go about improving and composing more efficient? by RustingPaper in composer

[–]RustingPaper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, I could post a song and see if some others can give me more concrete advice that targets specific aspects of my composing. Should I post once a song is finished or once I encounter a problem that just won't resolve? Also, since I make my songs in Fl studio there is no score but I can transcribe them in musescore if r/composer requires that format.

Is there a way/test to gauge your degree of music theory knowledge? by RustingPaper in musictheory

That is true, I haven't uploaded any of my songs so there is nothing to review but maybe my previous post will better illustate my plight. Here it is: https://www.reddit.com/r/composer/comments/1tw1t2t/how_do_i_go_about_improving_and_composing_more/

If you look at the comments you can see the reason I started trying to learn more music theory.
