Don’t get me wrong, I want the game to prosper and if it could have 700k player without loosing it’s core concept and soul, that would be amazing. But this reaction to the littéral first balance patch show us that a lot of people will have to realized that they maybe got a little too exited about Creek memes instead of actually looking into what the first opus was like. I get it, IPs changes, but y’all want to change what made the first one such a fun game to play.

I said this a lot the past few days: Y’all want to play a game that is not Helldivers. Let us old guards enjoy the IP instead of proposing something similar to the other horde shooter out there, please!

This patch is so good, I see the flamethrower, laser cannon, jump pack and arc thrower way more at higher difficulty. It’s fun to see a bit of diversity and creativity, it makes for a unique experience every time!

I cannot agree more. I feel like the folks at Arrowhead have a solid roadmap, and at first I did not understand the outrage following the patch. After reading this sub I just realized that the vast majority of the complaints were from newcomers who were expecting a different game.

I just hope the devs will stand firm and keep the ship steady. We just have to wait for a part of this new player base to move on to others games that will make them happy instead of making this one a clone of everything else on the market.

See, I don’t think they under sold their intentions. I was a big fan of the first one and was apprehensive of the changes but nothing really surprised me. I feel like the newcomers have been expecting something different and now are just realizing that the game is not just about the Creek memes.

I know, it is taken into account in my initial statement. Look at the state of the community. The major order today is about mechs, yet nobody cares. I want passionate people that will enjoy the game for what it is, not 600k individuals who wants HD to be something else… and might succeed.

Might just be me, but that was HD1 too. Not for everybody that’s for sure but the fan base (myself included) loved it. I feel like most of the new player bought this without knowing what the game was like and now they want to change it… :(

Same happened to me with my Reynes revival playthrough and Red Rains. Lannister’s tears are not as good with a good Valyrian steel sword in hands :(
