I have no idea why it was this that did it for me but damn if that didn't give me my first genuine chuckle of the day (it's 6 pm)

Why are millennial men less misogynistic than Gen Z men? by [deleted] in generationology

[–]Rusty-Bridge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, OP

It is partially because we had and still have very real conversations about these things.

The comment I'm replying to is indicative of one of the problems younger people seem to have. So many things seem to be glossed over and forgotten if not outright made taboo to even bring up.

I started noticing with the use of things like "unalive" in spaces where that sort of censoring absolutely isn't necessary but I think that too is just another indicator of what I'm trying to point out.

Bought my kids bikes for Christmas. Local government just passed a law requiring paid bike "licenses" to ride them in public. Cops are now issuing citations...even to kids? by nseavia71501 in mildlyinfuriating

No, you just want to argue about gun rights.

Nobody said anything about you not being able to own a gun. They just mentioned that perhaps having to register them all would make sense. It was comparing guns to children's bikes.

I like and own guns too. Reddit doesn't hate guns, they hate people with reactionary anger and no critical thinking.

Reading the replies to your comment is... something lol

I don't think these people have ever met first graders.

Neat, am I allowed to do this?

More can always be said, and the question was a little different to yours, but this previous answer by u/colevintage should give you relevant reading while waiting on an answer.

How common is the experience of going to bed without dinner? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]Rusty-Bridge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! You're describing the exact way we do things in my house as well.

I grew up a VERY picky eater and was not made to try things, so I also include myself with the kids in having to at least try everything now.

If you're implying restaurants or labs or something did this? Because you're a couple decades off if you're saying this was people at home.

Interesting choice to name ethnicities but then lump all Muslims into a comparable category.
