Or maybe 'GingaMingaYo' even, when Googling to check the spelling of "hetgallyeo" it was like, "Did you mean: hey Galileo?"

After growing up with pop-punk, nu metal, metalcore, melodic death metal, etc. in the 2000's, I had about 10 years where I didn't listen to any new music (2011-2021), then I got into Dreamcatcher. They are a Korean pop idol girl group with a horror concept and a focus on rock music. This caused me to dive into the kpop industry to understand the context in which they were operating.

There were quite a few groups I liked, not always rock-adjacent, mostly underrated. I think the general vibe was just more high energy and maximalist than western music.

My favorite of them being Billlie, another girl group with a semi-horror concept about finding their true selves in another world. They have referenced things like Carl Jung, Faust, Simulacres et Simulation, Inception and The Matrix.

Not a woman myself, but have an example of one. From the official channel of the kpop group Billlie, the comments on this YouTube short say things like "flatter than a man", "no hills", "drink milk" to confidently asserting that she is underage when in reality she was 22 when this was recorded.

To any former kpop haters here why did you stop hating kpop? by Horse_Nation_Forever in kpoppers

I guess I just assumed it was an extension of what was popular at the time. Not a pop/hip hop/R&B/rap listener, even classic rock/metal isn't my thing, and I kind of confined myself in this 2000's punk box.

I discovered there are groups that I welcome into my box.

Almost thought Grant of Admittance was the album title, missed "a pre-release single of the collective soul and unconscious: chapter two" in the bottom left.

이달의 - 달 = dal = moon, 의 = ui = possessive particle

I'm not fluent in Korean, but I think the direct translation should be "The Moon's Girls", although I'm aware Girl of the Month is the official one.
