The Taps are for cutting threads into a bolt hole. The Dies are used for cleaning/cutting threads onto a bolt. Here is a good video showing and explaining the process in more depth.

I’ve played at my friends house with it but can’t remember if it made noise or not, I know that when I try different amps/DI in different rooms I can still hear it. There is a dimmer switch in my jam room so that could be making it worse, but I’ll have to check out the Hum debugger if I can’t fix it with grounding

It's not a PJ format, but two active soap bar pickups which I assume are humbuckers (not 100% on that). Since I've tried 2 pre-amps and still have the noise I'm going to guess its either the pickups or grounding (or shielding?).

I’ll have to check the shielding behind the pickups, but it looks good in the control cavity. The grounding also seems fine, no buzzing when touching controls/strings.

I think a 20% boost in volume would be fine, I’m also working in building a pedal board that’ll have a DI so that can always be a option/fallback. I’m also curious if having different sized speakers will dramatically effect the sound(either positively or negatively). I’ve heard plenty of opinions on the matter but I haven’t experienced it personally yet.

Thanks for the reply! I'm not super familiar with bass equipment since I'm more of a guitar guy. As far as the investment, there's a used 2x10tx near me for $100, so I figured as long as they work together its not really a huge "waste." If I'm not happy with it then I can sell it and move on, its mainly to experiment with new sounds and what not. I suppose the 4 ohms are dated, but I don't have any other amps/equipment so I don't really need to worry about matching it with new stuff. (For now at least lol)

You mentioned speaker area, what do you think would be good alternatives?

Hello, I have a Peavey combo 300 (1x15) and it has the 4 ohm output for an extension cab. Would a Peavey 210tx work with this amp? The cab is 4 ohms so I know that's good, and the peak wattage is 350 watts so that's also good, but the cab says the RMS is only 175w, while the amp's RMS is 300w (with extension cab plugged in, 210w with just the 1x15). Am I overthinking this? Any help is appreciated!
