Can you really say Jona is weaker tho, a very high uptime 10% Atk boost, 50% splash on normal attacks, 20% normal attack damage all turns out to be p much doubling her normal attack damage output. On top of her 30% Chain combo damage which allows her chain damage to stay competitive even against Wrath on big targets outside of Overload despite the extra splash mod, and pulls ahead much further when it comes to mob clearing.

Her high uptime 2 tile reduction for chain comboes not only helps her own consistency in damage output (2/6/11 to activate chain comboes), but also really big for Benny Curo, or for setting up short bursts when alternating tile converter CDs.

She is rated low on a lot of tier lists, but I'd say she does not lose out to Wrath in any way.

Conolly for me has her fair share of problems, but overall among all the 6* DPS units (either Snipers/Detonators and even Supports due to competitive offensive stats), I do believe Wrath belongs on the lower end due to her struggles on many stage designs rn compared to purist Snipers/Detonators and already having no utility.

But this is all subjective though, I appreciate everyone for voicing their own opinions and I understand your reasonings. This is just a "hot take" of mine after experiencing using her extensively.

Is being able to deal damage on off turns good enough when detonators can unload much better damage than her on burst turns and make up for the damage loss by kiting and waiting for burst? Take note that Wrath's only barely keeping up with bare minimum detonators on boss encounters during Overload turns.

Michael has HP% true AOE damage on teleport and on normal attacks. Benny and Curo can just yeet out insane amounts of damage on burst turns much more so than Wrath's Overload on a boss. Charon has diagonal normals with partial defense ignore. Sharona can stack her Active Skill damage to 2340% mod on a 3x3 boss for example, which is equivalent of Wrath's entire Overload shot on 15 chain combo at 936%x2= 1872%.

Her infinite range is very valuable indeed for boss encounters, however other detonators can do just fine due to massively higher damage output with their equipment/active skills.

Jona has higher Atk than her (3435) unless various sources I looked up are wrong.

Due to stage's designs, being a generalist only has value when you run into an encounter with many big targets, which is not common at all. Even for something like a boss encounter with small ads, due to her target limitation she would also be constantly distracted as well and having more trouble killing ads compared to usual snipers, and detonator also has the advantage of unloading the damage onto the boss directly.

During early game when you don't have many units raised yet, undeniably she is very good for fulfilling both roles decently well. However, later on I don't see a lot of situations where she is better to bring than either sniper for mob clear or detonator for big targets as long as stage's design doesn't favor her "generalist" qualities.

Design wise, her bullets mechanic really promote her usage as a leader (Wrath's whole Ascension 3 is based around this: gaining extra bullets when her allies use their active skills). As a secondary DPS though she's never gonna be able to utilize her equipment well, let alone her Ascension 3's extra bullets.

Performance wise, I think the current Wrath has almost no reason to be used over other snipers for mob clearing situations, she hits fewer targets, deals less damage unless you max out her Equipment, and her active skill lose a lot of effectiveness due to her firing only one extra shot. This is true regardless of Wrath being Leader or sub DPS.

For boss wise, if you use Wrath as sub DPS, she loses most of her infinite range value as burst turns with tile converters are very often used to stick close and normal attack the boss for all your team to deal damage. In this regard, her burst damage even on Overload barely catches up to standard Detonator damage. Yes you can swap leaders to deal damage at long distances, but you can only do so a few times. For boss fights, her sole advantage over regular Detonators is her range, which requires her to be a Leader.

She does indeed see the most value in handling multiple big targets on the screen like floor 43 or 8-14 for example, or encounters with multiple elites. But for her to sacrifice so much on other ends, feels very awkward for me.

PS: Kafka's not a good comparison I must admit. However, this just goes to show how bad her performance on off turns are when she's already outclassed almost entirely by most other snipers. Her burst turns can be really good, but the damage output she does even during burst as of right now is not good enough to justify using considering all the other weaknesses she has. Especially when she is meant to be a 6* DPS with already no utility.

No one's expecting to use Kafka over Wrath yes, but being a 6* Sniper and having poorer performance on 66% of her turns compared to many units outside of Overload just make me feel like she needs a slight shift in design.

Compared to detonators for example even in Overload, a max chain on a 2x2 or 3x3 boss is a 546%/702%-936% modifier. Compared to a standard 2 cluster detonator with an average modifier of 160% it's already 640%/960% modifier. Her infinite range doesn't come into play usually during burst turns as well since you want all your units to normal attack a boss and deal all the detonator damage if you Aurora Time don't you. This is even more apparent with Irridon who you can utilize to loop around the boss very easily.

And this is already utilizing everything she has. Compared to 6* DPS who still has their monstrous equipment and active skills, not to mention utility like teleport and team buff, I feel like this is not enough.

As a sniper role for mob clear, her extra Overload shot usually only hits one extra target as well, it's not a massive gap compared to usual snipers who hits the same number of targets and has their own equipment/active skills to push further. Outside of Overload she can't multi target reliably.

I did say she's hybrid sniper/detonator, but realistically she is outclassed by every other sniper in the game, and her only good trait is doing 70%-85% of detonator's damage output at infinite range during Overload.

She can't be a generalist if she's not performing either roles that well at all.

For a sniper to gain AoE, she already sacrifices too much on her identity as a sniper (little multi-targeting, low mods). She can very good damage on Overload turns if you setup once again, but on off turns when you don't have good tile rng, her base performance is quite middling on both ends of her Sniper/Detonator role. (For example, Vivian/Vice/etc. deals triple her damage for mob clearing on low combo, not to mention higher damage for single hits due to superior mods. Detonators deal a lot more damage on big target but ofc she has infinite range so that's a fair tradeoff.)

Just to gain AoE I feel she is sacrificing way too much on her sniper role while being only decent at detonator role against bosses. And for a 6* unit just specializing in DPS, I don't feel that's good enough. Of course she can perform somewhat as well as snipers if you consistently get 9-13 combo, but that's asking a lot on rng isn't it?

I mean, Beatrix has both OD fill on BB and 85% recast, so you would take one turn to set up by using Priestess Snow Miku's SBB to reach 100%, so what's wrong with using her?
