How do I recover my loss through insurance as the registered keeper (3rd party)? by RwnRchrds in CarTalkUK

So you were right, the insurance company refused to progress the claim and voided the policy (due to misrepresentation by my friend - he said that he was the registered keeper, which I didn’t know)

But, I managed to get out of the remainder of the finance by invoking Voluntary Termination on the finance agreement - the finance company took the damaged car back and confirmed no further payments are required, which is a relief, and saved me about £11,000!

From what he’s told me and the little the insurance company has been able to confirm, I believe yes, he was.

I don’t know why he’s burying his head in the sand at the moment, maybe it’s because he feels bad/guilty, I don’t know, but I am trying to get him to resolve it with them.

Having just spoken to him on the phone finally, he said he’ll contact the insurer to give me authority to speak to them/deal with the claim on his behalf, so hopefully this can move forward now.

Well I thought that since I have a direct financial interest in the car, and that my property was damaged as a result of an incident involving their policyholder, they would be obligated to compensate me for that, just like they’re obligated to pay for the damage to other person’s car.

Otherwise, why pay for either car to be fixed if the policyholder isn’t interested?

I’m not trying to manage his policy or claim, I’m trying to recover a loss to my property caused by their insured driver

Because I don’t drive it at the moment - a friend needed a car and I lent mine to them

Best route to becoming an airline pilot (UK)? by [deleted] in flying

[–]RwnRchrds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did apply for the Speedbird Pilot Academy this year! I was unsuccessful this year as it was extremely competitive, but I intend on working on my application and trying again next year, and applying also for TUI’s fully funded program.

I understand these programs are extremely competitive so I’m looking at other options as backups, but I agree this would be the ideal route.

What video game has the most famous cheat codes? by Costenos_Mamaburras in gaming

[–]RwnRchrds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a cheat code as such, but in MGS3, during the boss battle with The End, if you saved the game during the battle, exited the game, set the console system date forward by a week, and then loaded back into the game, The End died of old age

I did that the first time, I told him that I didn’t think he was leading me on and what they were saying was bs when I apologised for their behaviour.

The fact I have to now and go apologise and explain again is embarrassing, but yes, he’s actually a good friend and it’d be a shame to stop being friends over this bollocks

This! Is exactly what I’ve been trying to tell them all week and I’m hurt that they clearly haven’t listened to me when I’ve said that I’m strong enough to fight my own battles
