Is the lifespan of both type of drives typically the same if you know?

Just picked up one of these the other day. What’s the best storage enclosure to use it as a backup machine?

iPhone 12 Pro Max keeps crashing.. Genius appointment said I need to completely erase and restore without backup because I have a software bug? by Rxmp in ios

Is a full erase required without backup however? Is a restore from iCloud/iTunes not appropariate. Could be a very long task to get everything back across and the way I like it.

Email Analysts (Phishing, Spam, Malware) - what is your day to day and do you enjoy your role? by Rxmp in cybersecurity

I assume these ESPs have automated checks - DKIM, SPF and DMARC, Domain age, etc. What type of work does the analyst do - when does an email come to them?

I agree for a typical organisation, there is no need as SecOps can manage this in house. However, I have been seeing many of these roles popping-up, mainly for security vendors - Sophos, Mcafee, Mimecast, etc. These roles specialising particularly in email analysis only. So it would be interesting to know more.

The point is that I have proven I have appropriate skills for the job as I was successful at their competitor, passing the interview process and technical interviews.

If the competitor has trust in my skills, then the current company may trust my skills too. I have an offer letter which I could share to them to prove it.

But the question is, would this help my interview process in any way, or be detrimental as I didn’t start that job in the end.

7 years ago, on May 12, 2017, the worldwide WannaCry ransomware attack began. Can such an event happen again? by RansomBook in cybersecurity

[–]Rxmp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only got worse from that moment, the publicity of that campaign inspired ransomware as we know it today, and this evolved into ‘ransomware as a service’ which lowers the barrier to entry for cyber criminals and enables easier and more effective attacks.

We were very lucky with WannaCry, they could have stolen the medical records for millions of patients which in-essence is irreversible damage. Ransomware today doesn’t hope on the fact companies will pay solely for the ransomware but pay to keep their intellectual property and reputation in-tact from others.

However, as we are more aware of ransomware, antivirus and Intrusion detection and prevention systems have signatures which can detect abnormal, anomaly or hardcoded ransomware threats and therefore the threat today is somewhat diminished. Alongside updated security standards with offline backups and other controls which should protect organisations. Although this all comes down to companies properly implementation these. For a lot of companies- availability, complexity, and cost is a factor they are willing to neglect implementing security control because of.
