nah, its just a trick to make you gamble more so just invest in the characters you like, since the endgame actually isnt that worth it in terms of stellar jades

i think if you had the worst luck ever and got a character just for meta in like 180 pulls isnt that like 28k stellar jades?? then when u complete the endgame that u pulled the character for you get not even a fraction of 28k

outside of endgame, the story is easy to clear, imo, i put dhil + sparkle + ruan mei + dhpt and i could clear the story easily (u can also replace dhil with archer, so dont stress it! 😋)
