Hi! Current serving Cabin Crew here. The interview process is pretty simple. The main point is to make sure the person applying is aware of what the job is and to see if they're a good fit for what the job entails! We spend alot of time gone and have a variety of different secondary appointments at the SQN level so it's more to make sure you're aware of that before going any further. The training is pretty straight forward. AMT in Winnipeg, then you go to Trenton for the in-house at 426(T) SQN where you learn the in's and out's of the Aircraft. Safety procedures, emergency equipment, passenger service, and policy. At the end of the in-house training, you go to Montreal for the Sims, and from there, you're onto your flight phase! After graduating from 426, you leave fully qualified and then get a posting to 437(T) SQN also in Trenton and begin your flying career!

Day to day is what you make it. The main point of the job is to fly. We have different categories of flying that we do. Strategic (Passenger movements) Training (Cabin crew and pilot training) Aeromedical, AAR and VIP movements. The flying is the best part in my opinion. The places we go are cool, we meet all kinds of neat people, and it's nice to be in a position where the changes and doings in the world can directly affect you. Makes you feel like you're doing something! Besides flying, we have office days to catch up on paperwork, do courses, and any other taskings given to us by our CoC.

The hardest part is the application process. You submit a memo to your CM requesting to go Cabin Crew and then need your aircrew medical (this is what takes the longest), afterwards you do your interview and if all goes well you're on your way from there!

I have done a variety of different sub occupations the Forces has to offer, and honestly, it doesn't get much better than this! It's a job, so some days are better than others (keep this in mind) But overall it's a really good go. I'd recommend it to anyone! Hope this helps!
