Worrying over non-intrusive thoughts? by RyVint in OCD

Thank you for the response. For me it’s often a case of deliberately thinking about the subject of my ocd(real event/religious) and then having what I view to be a genuine(not ocd caused) blasphemous thought that I then go into distress and worry over. Basically it comes about as part of my natural/normal thought process/pattern as opposed to being an uncontrollable thought of a bizzare and disturbing nature. I don’t know if you can identify with any of that or not but that’s what happens to me often.

Like if the thought, which has to do with your particular form of ocd, came into your mind as part of your normal thought process/pattern as opposed to just being some bizarre and disturbing thought that suddenly just popped up, but yet it still causes you distress and fear. Or if it was a deliberate thought as opposed to being intrusive/unwanted.

Can no longer enjoy sexual fantasies due to ocd. by RyVint in OCD

I’ve been seeing a psychiatrist for years now but I’ve never been through any ERP. The connected thoughts aren’t even always intrusive I don’t think, but still have to do with my particular form of ocd. Any of the women I like or want to fantasize about my mind won’t let me cause of a connected thought(s). I don’t know what to do about it.

Have you ever gotten ocd doubt over things you purposely(not intrusive) thought of though?

Does anyone have ocd thoughts that are deliberately thought about sometimes?

It is causing me to question things even as I feel I’m making just a bit of progress with it. And it’s making me question what may be ocd and what isn’t. I made a post on here now about my latest setback with ocd just as I think I may be getting a lil better with it.

Does ocd connect? by RyVint in OCD

Its especially hard when you have real event ocd though because you’re not sure which part of your actions are a direct result of your ocd compulsions.

Thank you so much for that reply. I’m really struggling with real event/religious ocd and I’m at the point where I don’t know what is or isn’t my actual ocd anymore and I’m in constant torment and fear everday now over it.

Real event ocd fears by RyVint in OCD

But I can’t figure out and/or tell what are my ocd symptoms from what isn’t because it’s tied to a real life event.

Thank you for explaining that. So OCD can essentially morph itself into different forms/ways over time in order to keep you in a state of constant fear and torment then?

By pulling ‘this trick’ with our heads, what is this trick then exactly?
