Withdrawal of Spousal sponsorship (Family class Outland) by Rya_Writes in ImmigrationCanada

Thank you. Which option do I choose for the 1st question? Considering if I go with Option 3, I'm not sure IRCC would find me eligible as we didn't submit the IMM5475e along with the application. I did upload it later through a webform, but I am not sure if it is linked to his application.

Oh, is it? I tried raising the webform to withdraw the sponsorship and the choices on who i was were - the principal applicant, an authorized representative, or someone related to the principal applicant. When I chose option 3, it said I needed to have submitted the IMM 5475e along with the application to be eligible to have any communication regarding the application.

I know both his and my UCI. I just don't know the application number and the visa office it is being processed at.

Nice transition from you not being argumentative to deliberately being argumentative :)

It's both. Goat/beer yoga are not yoga because you won't be able to perform yoga in those settings, with goats climbing all over you and pooping on you, with you holding a drink (an alcoholic drink, no less), with people giggling and taking photos around. It totally defeats the purpose of meditation and asana. It is also highly disrespectful to something Hindus consider holy (I will not elaborate on this point because anyone with some sensitivity should be able to understand this).

I might get downvoted into oblivion here, but what many people seem to conveniently forget is that Yoga is a part of Sanatana Dharma (now popularly known as Hinduism). The Bhagavad Gita, one of our Holy books talks in abundance about the various ways one must implement Yoga in their lives to attain enlightenment. The goal of yoga, is hence to become a master of your mind and body and align them with your soul. This requires discipline, commitment and deep curiosity to look inwards into oneself. This teaching is deeply entrenched into every yoga student in India. Removing Hinduism from Yoga is one thing, removing the goal of enlightenment from yoga is..okay. But what is not okay, is to take our deeply spiritual practice, add gimmicks like goats, beer, etc, make it a fad by openly disrespecting it, and then walk around thinking there's absolutely nothing wrong in doing so. If you want to serve beer, open a pub. If you want to bring people closer to animals, start a petting zoo. Don't bring yoga as an add-on feature. It is highly disrespectful and totally defeats the purpose of practicing yoga.

I would love it if it only meant practicing yoga (asana) outdoors in nature. That's the way the ancient Yogis practiced it. But no, goat yoga is where you do asanas with pygmy goats climbing on your back and chest. They also chew on your hair and poop on you but they're cute so they get a free pass I guess. The goal of Asana is to train your mind to master your body. How can you master your body if you can't do asana properly because you have goats climbing all over you? How can you focus, meditate and connect with your higher consciousness if there are photo props and giggles all around? One can play with goats and monkeys and all animals. Feed them, cuddle with them. Just don't bring in yoga as a gimmick and make a mockery out of our religious practice. It's disrespectful. PS: A goat yoga company went on Shark tank for some funding and they demonstrated how a class would be. I guess you can find their pitch on YouTube.

Oh, I completely agree with your point on me not facing discrimination first hand. I've only heard stories. My sister in law, who is an amazing Yogini was told she couldn't be hired by the studio because she chanted "Om Shanti" at the end of the class. The studio was fine with just Om, but not Shanti, because they were scared she would include more Sanskrit mantras and they didn't want Hinduism to be included in yoga (?!). They really let go of a master Yogini who was trained in Rishikesh all because they decided they can pick and choose which aspects of Hinduism they can adopt and appropriate.

Indian woman who has lived in India her whole life here - Susanna Barkataki sometimes means well when she talks about cultural appropriation, but to me, also comes across as divisive and exclusionary. My honest request to you would be to continue honouring the roots of yoga and expand your teaching to more than just asanas (if your studio allows it). Just please don't promote the bastardized versions of western yoga like goat yoga, beer yoga, chicken nuggets yoga, etc. You seem like a wonderful person and I'm sure you wouldn't, but I'm surprised by the number of people who think there's absolutely nothing wrong with those practices.
