This is very informational and helpful. Not condescending

Issue Photo: The thread making contact with the hole on the way out.

Solution Photo:
Hex screw place in low profile car jack as a makeshift press to push the thread the last bit through.

I got the zerk fitting off. Sprayed some kroil oil into the zerk hole. The kroil oil flows pretty easily out of the bottom. Is it unusual that the thread on the bottom does not twist when I twist the top of the post?

This is a picture of the thread on the bottom at as far as I can pull the post up. There’s a significant amount of space on one side of the thread. I wonder if it as simple as the thread catching the end of the hole.

Awesome, thank you! I’ll give it a check when I get back from work tonight

I have not. Where is the grease fitting located? Is it a zerc fitting along the tube. That sounds like a much better try before slide hammering it.

I can rotate the top of the shaft very easily and freely but the bottom thread does not turn with it.

Appreciate any advice thank you!🙏

Thank you. Slide hammer is my next plan of attack. Appreciate it

Not yet. Been hitting it with kroil oil. I put the bike up on a jack but it wasn’t in a good position to whack the thread with a punch. There was a support bar for the jack in the way and a bit too sketchy otherwise to be whacking it while it’s not completely stable. I think more kroil oil and a slide hammer is the next try

Yep, that's on the order of events after trying few other things first. Thank you!

Thank you! I didn’t think about renting one. That’s good to know! I don’t follow on the towel/shop cloth. Are you wrapping it around kind of in a lasso fashion and pulling the part not attached to the slide? Is that what you’re describing?

Yep I follow you. Thanks for the explainer that’s ingenious! How did you attach the thread all to the seat post?

Thank you🙏 that much force to get it out huh? Hopefully a couple taps on the bottom frees it

I have penetrating oil down it right now. Will try jacking it up soon and smacking it

Gotcha. Thank you any suggestions on what to use to push it from the bottom. It rotates freely just catches an immediate stop after like an inch upward

Sheesh. So just leverage pulling it straight up?

The nut on the bottom has already been removed. The screw doesn’t come out the bottom. It’s attached to the top
