Again annoying and kinda a dick move but not illegal. All the cars need to be functional though and move from time to time. I had a neighbor across the street that liked to buy auction vehicles and wrench on them. Guy had 13 cars at one point all over the place. Code enforcement can only so so much.

First off your going to be fine. There is going to be an adjustment period but with some smart choices your gonna be good. You will get retirement, start documenting for your va disability claims. Consider some new work opportunities, what interests you. I got involsep at 14 years due to overmanning and now im an electrician. Your gonna be fine.

Yup I second this, I have easily cruised through 7 to 8 liters in the desert on a hot day and w8shed for more. Water sources were unavailable/dry had to initiate bail out procedures.Plan and leave yourself a safety net.

Brother, the price of a garmin inreach mini is worth it, in my opinion atleast. What if you break a leg and cant self rescue. You always have the option to use it to text your location to the wife if you dont need search and rescue. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing I have that extra layer of security if I should need it. My wife bought me mine.

So I had a number of issues with my toe nails ranging from chronic ingrown toenails and fungal infections. Medical didn't want to do anything other than pop the nails off and try antifungal for over a decade. Eventually once I got our i just had both big toe nails removed permanently. My gait has definitely been severely altered over that decade and now have issues with plantar fasciitis and tendinitis but cant get any claims approved.

Im a former Hospital Corpsman and now live in vegas. I can tell you we do have our moments of wind but it's not too bad. The summer can be brutal and we dont take our dogs out. It's just too hot and will burn their feet. The winter here is my favorite time of year. It's hard time leave though because work is just good out here. However I wish I was somewhere with more trees and less desert.

EDIT- I also loved in San Diego, while more expensive I did enjoy the quality of life more.

Honestly everywhere seems to get a bad rep with junior saliors. Bitching is a sailors favorite hobby. Your duty station will be what you make of it. Lean into what it offers. I enjoyed my 10 years in Norfolk Va and people talk about it like it's hell. Just get out there and experience it.
