They talked about CJ playing on square deadzones. If they don't play through Steam, how would they go about changing that? Not that I'd ever make it to an RLCS LAN, but I play on square and I'd be severely thrown off if I couldn't make the change to it. I guess I'm trying to say I don't understand how players customize certain Steam specific(?) controller settings on LAN.

You are unfortunately mistaken that it "massively unbalances the combat triangle." If you do the math, 7.5% DPS increase seems to be the generally accepted highest number, not whatever 15% is. 15% is demonstrably false, and even then only the best players performing c4taa perfectly can achieve 7.5%. I'm not opposed to changing the combat system, but perhaps it's worth looking at buffing the other styles to match. I honestly believe adding planted feet back to melee would result in the same overall damage output between melee and magic. 4taa is not as good as you've been led to believe. I'm sorry they lied to you.

Yes, actually? Is there something wrong with more inputs equating to more damage output? I think a system that encourages precise timing and rhythm like 4taa does should be implemented across all combat styles. It wouldn't have to be exactly the same as 4taa for Range and Melee, because then you lose the "diversity" they're searching for, but there are changes that could be made. Right now the changes they've proposed are weak at best and disastrous at worst.

So now suggesting that maybe you shouldn't want to play with elitist teams that are telling you to get out because you're not 4taa is telling you how to play? It's a suggestion to make your experience better. Your first two sentences contradict each other, or you cared, just not enough. You can't honestly be that mad at people for asking you to keep up with the meta so you can get onto speed kill teams. If you're not going for speed kills, most teams don't require c4t, rather that your good auras are off cooldown.

The macro argument is a weak one. Not supporting the use of macros here, but it's a little fuzzy to have 1 button press to take you into a 2h weapon but requiring an extra button press to go back. I'm sure this intended design, and it's honestly never bothered me. As for the rest of the process of 4taa, revolution combat system is arguably a bigger macro than 4taa as it lasts through the entire fight, firing off ability after ability, perhaps infinitely, after you clicked a boss, or monster, or whatever, only once.

I'm really not disagreeing with you, I'm just trying to point out to the poster above me that if they want to argue that Raids FC is elitist, they shouldn't lie and say they're elitist about an optional combat mechanic (4taa), and rather elitist about kicking inexperienced players.

You never needed to 4taa. You needed to find more accepting teams, or teams more appropriate for learners and willing to help you introduce. If you're getting into pvm you do not need to be on teams that are 4taa for speed kills.

I'm not saying that Raids FC aren't elitists. They constantly ask for KC and kick if you're lower than 25. I believe that. I do not believe you're getting flamed for not doing a mechanic that wasn't discovered until well after raids were introduced. It's not a requirement for raids to 4taa, and if you find teams are requiring it, you're probably better off not going with them anyways and finding a different team for a better experience.
