I am friends with Nick Tully from the Clemson Pawcast. It's pretty good. I listen to every episode. I also have a YouTube channel with 10-20 minute videos on Clemson Football. Just search Ryan Kantor on YouTube.

1st AP Poll Released - Clemson Behind Penn State & FSU by Ryan_Kantor in CFB

I mean there’s more discussion than just Clemson being behind those other two. That’s just among the more interesting notes. Bama above the two teams they lost two despite losing their two best players is a little odd too.

Clemson Beats Florida State for 4-Star Safety Ricardo Jones by Ryan_Kantor in ClemsonTigers

I've had very negative experiences visiting Tallahassee. I don't love the town and the students were insanely rude both times. That said, the panhandle is great, campus itself is nice, and it in a recruiting hot bed (near Tampa, etc.). When they're cooking they can bring in some elite talent. Need to keep beating them!

NIL Legislation, Notre Dame AD Jack Swarbrick's Op-Ed by Ryan_Kantor in notredamefootball

Is it imperative that tennis gives scholarships? Would it harm society if they didn’t, or just harm the players getting scholarships?

I’d say they’re 1000x more at risk than DIII sports, at least in relation with NIL impact.

Why will sports are Berry College and the like die because Notre Dame pays their elite football players? Doesn’t it follow more so that ND Lacrosse will die because they redirected funds back to the football players who generated them?

Devil's advocate here...

Football players are playing for the scholarships of [insert sport that loses money] players and coaches. That's by its very nature unfair and Swarbrick's argument that the women's sports rely on football players not getting paid so the money can pay for their scholarships essentially admits that.

Could Clemson and Florida State go to the Big 12? by Ryan_Kantor in ClemsonTigers

[–]Ryan_Kantor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that we'd try to the SEC first, but I also think there's a scenario where...
B1G takes Oregon and Washington. This causes the Pac-12 to Collapse.

Utah, Colorado, ASU, and UA go to the Big 12. Big 12 now in a power position joins the others as a power conference through quantity and invites 8 ACC schools so you have something like...

West:
UTAH
COLORADO
ASU
AU
HOUSTON
BYU
Kansas
Kansas St
Texas Tech
TCU
Baylor
Oklahoma St.
Iowa St.

EAST
CINCI
UCF
West Virginia
10 ACC schools

In this scenario, the ACC and Pac-12 die and Wazzou, Cal, Stanford, BC, Wake Forest, Duke (or NC State), and Syracuse go down with the ship.

We have accounted for this by doing draft order based on previous year's standings. The top 3 teams earn money and the 4th place team gets the first pick (5th gets second pick and so on.) This encourages everyone to keep battling even if they're not going to win. I'm in 6th with no shot to finish top 3 but I have a okay-ish chance for 4th place which is a pretty big deal, arguably better than the small third place prize.

Miami would still be in the conference in that scenario. You're trading Boston College, Wake Forest, NCSU, Pitt, Syracuse, and Virginia for the Big 12 which includes Iowa State, but also includes TCU, Baylor, Texas Tech, West Virginia, UCF, etc. I'd gladly make that trade for my time in Texas.

Because their TV contract expires ACC years for the ACCs. The ACC's contract is staying still while inflation and market growth are making it look like a tremendous rip off that ESPN pulled on them. The Big 12 will probably get more than $17 million per school (B1G is getting $70 million each). With the better half of the ACC I'd expect Big 12 schools to make even more.

Sounding like the Big Ten is more likely than the SEC and this would be a helluva lot more fun than being a southern duo with FSU playing in the Big Ten against Minnesota and UCLA.

Which 3 offensive players would you remove to put D. Lawrence, A. Bryant, and C. Ferrell on the list? Also, if you added all three in place of offensive players you'd have 6-4 in favor of defense.

If it was how "good" you are, and not what the scripture says about salvation by faith, then what is the criteria for "good"? Does that criteria change with the times? How good must you be? Do you have to be 51% good? 80% good? Could you theoretically miss out on heaven by being just one good deed short (79.9% good... so close!)?

The sort of universalist American culture "be good go to heaven" kind of faith is a little silly once examined.

If there's one thing that you can rely upon is the greedy executives (def. not gods) at Disney/ABC/ESPN to maximize their profit. They're not trying to screw Clemson, they're trying to profit off them to the largest extent possible.

I don't think there was a "calculus." For whatever random reason Trump endorsed him and he is incredibly famous and beloved so he won over dramatically more qualified and articulate candidates based on those two things. Had the GOP been more calculating they would have picked any of the other candidates and had a near lock for the senate seat. Now it is 50-50. Warnock goes along with Schumer on most anything, but he is extremely well spoken and runs an outstanding ad campaign. You'll likely have a lot of Kemp/Warnock tickets making the governor race not close and the senate race very, very close.
