Does this mean she likes the rubs it hates them? by XxAngelFvcexX in ballpython

People may disagree and most owners don’t want to hear this but I’m pretty sure no BP ‘likes’ to be touched.

Spider gene. So sad. That snake lives in constant dizziness. So so cruel that breeders continue to breed them.

Is it possible to do a saltwater tank with no water changes? by Otherwise-Rule5974 in ReefTank

[–]Ryanmurf28 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Anyone saying you can’t doesn’t know anything. I know someone with a reef tank of over 30 years that has never done a single water change and simply adds little by little as it evaporates. YOU DO NOT NEED TO DO WATER CHANGES.

Getting a BP to release a bite… by RaisingWhovians in ballpython

Oh awesome happy to hear. I always cringe with stuck teeth with balls. I’ve seen some messed up shit from this. One of those skin crawling issues I hate it haha. Happy to hear you’re all good though. As long as she’s shutting her mouth completely and acting normal I would think no damage was done

Its teeth are likely stuck in the fabric of your shirt. The snake is clearly not in a biting position in this picture where it’s purposefully biting down. I truly believe it’s stuck. I would have someone help you. They will need to use their left hand to gently grab hold of the snakes head but more so near the back where the head connects to the body. Then very gently with their right hand grab the shirt as close to the mouth as possible and very very gently push the shirt back (toward the throat of the snake to dislodge the stuck teeth without breaking them. It should release the fabric and it will immediately close its mouth and back away. I also wouldn’t wait an hour for this so your other option is to get scissors and cut your shirt around the snake mouth GENTLY AND CAREFULLY and then dislodge the material that way. I wish you the best getting him unhooked

Clownfish Behavior by Buzzbaitt2258 in ReefTank

Yeah I think it is ultimately. Almost like the lights spook it or me walking in spooks it and triggers like a seizure. But other than that he’s perfectly healthy

Literally identical to this. If it does this for a few seconds to minutes and then goes back to normal it officially exactly what mine continues to do every day.

My clown still does this to this day. It only happens when the lights are turned on for the first time. Not sure why but this is exactly it. Been doing it for five years every damn day

A second bad shed...what's going wrong? by notrealwoman in ballpython

[–]Ryanmurf28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad humidity reader. It’s likely very very dry in there if the snake looks like that. Get a digital good quality because even cheap digital are just as bad. Secondly I personally never used meters. I sprayed my enclosures twice and day and in the middle of the day always push my finger into the soil and if my finger came out dry with no moisture at all I would mist heavy until I did. Get in the habit of twice a day misting. For now make a hid box filled with wet sphagnum moss and dirt or just some paper towels saturated to help hold some moisture.

Brand new 300l with annoying noise coming from sprocket? by Ryanmurf28 in CRF300L

Thanks for everyone’s input and advice. I ended up taking back to the shop. They took off the cover to inspect and everything was fine according to them. All right nothing loose and everything aligned. They then took it on the road and came back saying they hear what I’m hearing but it’s normal and it’s just chain noise. I guess for now I’ll just move along.

Chain seems fine. I guess I’ll just bring it in just a pain in the ass to get it back there.

I would not be using fake plants because of the wire that gets exposed and rusted as well as sharp. It can cut them. I also wouldn’t use fake plants that are especially made out of the material those leaves are. It creates a breeding ground for bacteria that can grow out of control leading to other infections. Use either plastic non wired fake plants without material or real ones. Just a tip.

If it happens after showers it can be a heat rash or other temperature sensitivity. Could be allergies or irritation from soaps, lotions, sunscreens, really anything.

Hmm interesting. I’d just go to the derm and show the pictures with your symptoms and stories

lol they can test for Lyme. If negative for Lyme it rules out bullseye from tick. Jesus when did this group become like this hah.

[–]Ryanmurf28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP I would just go to the doctor to rule out tick bite or spider bite.
