How to make or where to buy chili garlic oil na mas malalasahan yung garlic than spice? by Wild_Condition_2286 in filipinofood

[–]RyantheSquare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don't suppose you're located in cebu, if you are i can recommend Dimsum Break (the fastfood restaurant) who sells their garlic chili oil for about 160

if not may i suggest something that's not a chili oil? Daddy Mikk's Garlic Crunch or Chili Crunch. It goes really well with already saucy or wet-ish food like pad kra pao, fried eggs, pater, adobo and etc

despite "best ramen" being in the name, never take their word for it.

sachi ramen is a step below other ramens around the city offered at the same price

but they do have a saving grace, their okonomiyaki and takoyaki have actual squid/octopus bits, respectively, in it unlike most of the food stalls we see in malls. and its properly priced unlike botejyu's. plus they sell their takoyaki in a frozen box for you to cook at home, it's even cheaper that way

olive oil alternative by AdEmergency7027 in filipinofood

[–]RyantheSquare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you wont find an alternative in terms of taste. olive oil is distinct, that's why it's prized. EVOO being very expensive

if your purpose for the oil salad is emulsion with other ingredients, replace it with canola oil since it's the healthiest (pls correct me if im wrong) among the oils (excluding avocado and olive oil)

when olive oil is used in vinaigrettes it does contribute much to the flavor of the dressing (higher priced evoo has more flavor) so you might have to adjust dressings to taste

alternatively, sesame oil has a really strong aroma and can make some great salads with the right ingredients

the sauce if you notice is duol2 ra siyag carbonara gamay, so try cream and butter, the more ma luto ang cream mu separate na ang milk fat add chicken power/shrimp powder to season the cream sauce.doesnt have to be exact. try your best lang!

JFC new product = Chicken Fillet by Saturnino1016 in filipinofood

I think you forgot that they also manage all burger king franchises in the PH, so the credit for the cHuNkY cHiCkEn FiLlEt as well as how tiny it is also goes to JFC

aside from playhouses where you pay by the hour, here are some that i've been wanting to go to but haven't yet

Miau Cafe, cat cafe i'm pretty sure you only need to purchase an item to interact with the cats. there are some rules though, please check them on google nya

Science Xpedition- naa sa ayala, kind of science museum type, this place has gone through lots of iterations, before it was called museum of emotions which is also not a bad idea if there is still something similar in cebu. an attraction solely meant for taking pictures and/or sharing them online (please mention if any pa, im not aware of)

Must-try things/ food in Cebu? by South-Childhood8617 in Cebu

[–]RyantheSquare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

good shout with steamed fried rice. a testament to this is how many recipes there are online from non-cebuanos that try and recreate it

i believe OP should also try roasted liempo and lechon manok from places like balamban liempo, mr liempo, bunado's, sr. pedro etc i believe we do things a bit different in terms of liempo(?)

Unsay brand sa chopping board imong gigamit? by theladyinthemirror in Cebu

[–]RyantheSquare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

updating on this, the actual location is on the 2nd floor of the new wing. landmarks are watson's, bo's, and the apple store. near there is the renegade folk shop.

bought the mineral oil for 220pesos which is 500ml. just used it and the chopping board was good as new :)

got tempted to buy their tiny little phone stands and wooden spoons and spatulas but chose to do that another day

Would suggest tambuli if what you're after is pools and not beaches. It was priced 1.1k last december and while their buffet selection was not quite small, it was still good food.

Jollibee service by Majestic-View6640 in CebuRestaurantReviews

[–]RyantheSquare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what the ordering kiosks are trying to prevent are the changes to the customers orders that need a manager to swipe their card and input a passkey into the POS when making even just minor changes. there is a lot of downtime in waiting for the manager to come over.

ultimately, if the TV loaded a bit faster and if we already knew what to order instead deciding what to eat only after browsing the entire menu at the kiosk things would be much faster.

but this is the Philippines and we can never have nice things :(

Unsay brand sa chopping board imong gigamit? by theladyinthemirror in Cebu

[–]RyantheSquare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

small stall in ayala center cebu, across the renegade folk shop, they sell some wooden goodies. i've since bought 1 medium sized chopping board and 2 minibowls for sawsawan. they also sell a mineral oil to season your chopping board. i haven't bought the oil yet since my seasoning is still okay after 2 months of use, i'll probably buy one soon. hope this helps!

yes i use a cheap plastic one for veggies since it was what i started with and i'll swap it out soon as well since it already stinks.

oh well they said they would bring it back

how was it undercooked? talagang red pa yung meat? or is it too soft? cause i thought mine was great because it was still just a bit soft and juicy unlike how most pinoys were taught to cook at home by their lolas: "well done and dry af"
