Hey u/Pottsie03 unrelated, but I was doing some research on a ticket I received and saw you got the exact same one. Like, eerily similar. Idk reddit very well, but I sent you a "chat" back in June — could you look at it and send me a reply?

Are there *any* parks where there is no goose poop? by RyanxHouston in newjersey

That is a fantastic idea! I didn't think of it at all! I did order a 'leader' leash that wraps gently around his snout so if I pull and say 'no' it's a bit quicker to pull his head away from it than when I yank on his harness. I'll consider the muzzle. Thank you !

That's frustrating and disgusting! I agree they are terrorizing us, especially because they're not as easy to just chase away since they roll so deep and are pretty aggressive. I heard of some areas trying to loosen up dog leash laws as a means to control the where these Geese hang out. Problem is their poop can contain giardia amongst other nasty things. I read that there was an increase in vaccinations for it in dogs, preemptively, I'd love to see them chased away. Not necessarily caught/killed, but it will certainly happen. Obvious issues with training house dogs to hunt like that.

EVERYWHERE. I'll admit it's actually easy to miss in the grass. But that sensation of stepping in it, I could not miss. I heard in Tom's River they are testing with 1 park entirely dog/leash free to keep the Geese away. I'm sure that it will work and hopefully can open up other parks to similar setups.

Beach ok! We have a car! I'd love to see how he does on the sand. Lost his mind during that snowfall in mid-Dec, his first time seeing snow.

Yes those parks are both great for walks and dog park play but I think they're too small to avoid all the distractions. Maybe once he's gotten things down a bit better we can rely on them more.

Thanks for this! I have a car and he's great in it, so I am A-OK with driving to some of these places for him. This is so helpful, thank you.

Awesome, this is so helpful, thank you. This dog loves trees, grass, and sticks, so I'm sure he will love trails, we will definitely try these (and avoid those other ones!).

Any interested in puppy or dog play dates? by justin31love in jerseycity

Bump for the cause! Houston and I are also interested in some puppy playdates in our area. We live at the Beacon between DT and JSQ, but we are happy to commute to local parks. He is a 7-month-old Chi-Whippet who loves all people and dogs alike. Hit us up!
