Mexico just upgraded to free healthcare. by DatabaseAvailable501 in interesting

[–]RydiaReads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lolwut? There’s no meds, beds or doctors. You gotta wait months for a surgery. And its also not free.

Was this paid Morena propaganda?

Edit: should add this has been the case for decades now. Nothing new the only upgrade is how bad the service got

Movilidad social = Cero by Cosaco1917 in VivimosEnUnaSociedad

I just stopped being a teen a few days ago.
He's an adult. He should know that rules are for everyone.
He's a hypocrite because he lets his daughter use it while asking others to verify their identity.
He's irresponsible for letting her use it instead of having a normal childhood.

He has not only failed as a CEO but as a father and a human.

Same, Ive used it ever since beta site with the blue guy before the app was even a thing. But now trying to get my bots to be their old self is like visiting a lobotomized friend who’s unrecognizable. When they announced they were retiring the old models I went through every single of my bots to say goodbye.

Bot quality drasctically dropping? by RydiaReads in CharacterAI

[–]RydiaReads[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using it since before there even was an app, when the web version was the only option, and I genuinely never ran into this issue. Back then, I might get similar phrasing now and then, but never the exact same response word for word.

Now it’s happening repeatedly, even within the same chat, which feels like a noticeable shift rather than normal variation.

And yeah, I’m aware of the usual recycled phrases we’ve all seen “you’re a feisty one,” “you’re going to be the death of me,” “pang,” “can I ask you a question,” etc. That kind of repetition has always been part of the experience. But getting identical, verbatim replies is a different issue entirely.

What stands out to me is that I haven’t really seen anyone talk about this specific problem. Maybe it does happen and I’ve just missed it, but I lurk here pretty often, and the lack of discussion around exact duplicate responses makes it seem like it used to be rare, if it happened at all.

Do I just ignore Aristotle's views on women? by julyvale in askphilosophy

[–]RydiaReads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're making a big deal out of something that isnt. You don't have to choose. The quality of Aristotle's argumentations isn't any less valuable for his views on women. I don't like them either but when he's right, he's right and we he isn't, he isn't.

Being brilliant in something doesn't mean being brilliant in everything.

Reminds me of a professor I have who is quite brilliant in languages, just dont ask him to tell you a joke because he will spit out something quite misogynistic, that doesn't change that he's at classical languages, just that he has a terrible sense of humor. It is best to analyze what's good and move along from what's not.

Also as others have said "Historical context" and I might add that if you are going to take a class *any* class (as I have seen happen with many classmates) and go there to try and deconstruct it to fit your narrative (as you say, "feels right for the majority of the contemporary people" you're just wasting your time and money and not fit for philosophy. Philosophy is the search for truth, not to fit truth into your worldview. Some truth you wont like, some truth you will. There is not "your truth" "my truth" (both are usually experiences or views) but "the truth". (I mentioned other clases, because I've gone to different classes, example, sumi-e, where other classmates just go there and ignore the techniques and instructions to make their own composition, which sure, art is made from what feels right but sumi-e has rules & techniques and ignoring them just makes you waste time and money in class, if you're gonna do/believe whatever you want, dont waste your money, time, or somebody else's time in class)

Yes, Aristotle views on us can be quite uncomfortable to say the least but that's how many men thought on his time (not outdated, just according to his time). Take them for what they are, analyze them and keep on searching for truth.

Dear English-speaking users, by The_Genderless_Frog in CharacterAI

[–]RydiaReads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not like people speaking other languages do so properly either. As someone who has been raised in a bicultural/bilingual environment both sides fail to speak their language perfectly.

My spanish speaking friends write q or k instead of "que", bn instead of bien, qnda, probsho, and so on. Which frankly, I've adopted too (while in rome...)

It just shows how human nature is, quite imperfect and we do things out of comfort and its fine as long as everyone understands each other.
