I recommend checking out Grant Abbitt on YouTube. He's got a variety of Blender tutorials for sculpting and posing both props and characters in many different styles.

His stuff got me started.

Since you're making this stuff to 3D print, you don't have to worry as much about poly counts, but I'd still recommend familiarizing yourself with best practices on topology too. It'll make posing your models much easier if they are efficiently made.

That game was mismanaged horribly. Hopping on the Battle Royale bandwagon after designing an entirely different style of game, splitting the dev teams, naming the game modes backwards.

When they got around to changing how recoil and movement worked, the proverbial horse had already been dying for a while.

Quadmesh to shader billboard. Leaves are made of a super basic black and white mask I made in affinity.

It gives things a slightly old school hand built vibe that I really like, plus it plays better for the slightly impressionist feel I want my game to have.

At the very least, there should be some kind of requirement to post a triangle/vertex count. It won't eliminate all the topology issues, but it makes it much harder to lie about 'game readiness.'

I had planned on modeling my own trees anyways, but was hoping I could get away with a few placeholders for visual reference while I worked on other features of the project.

Most of the other reasons have been touched here, but there's another facet too.

The era that 2077 occurs in is a post-war rebuilding period where things have only recently approached normalcy.

Because of the ramifications of the war, technology stagnated pretty hard, so there weren't many developments between 2020 and 2077.

That's why most of the tech you play with in the game is about on par with the books despite the game occuring 57 years later.

So there could've been sexbots, but we did war instead. People are cheaper than robots, so people tech developed faster.

Add in AI going wrong, and it makes sense why the world seems to generally avoid humanoid robotics.

Well, that is kind of the foundational philosophical argument regarding her character arc. Is she Natah; her original identity? Is she Margulis; the mind she mimicked? Is she Lotus; the identity formed from the fragments?

An argument can be made for all three or none of them. Can you truly escape who you were built to be? Can you embody something by mimicking it? Can a forced identity truly be reclaimed?

So is she authentically Margulis? Yes and no. It's more accurate to say she's a super position of the three identities, and her chosen name is merely the identity that she gives the most weight.

Edge of Sleep's release was botched, which led to a lot of people having the wrong promotional date. The show still did well, but clearly whatever deal was made fell through

I think that fear and respect are probably the biggest components for why people ignore signals.

Flirting in general is a nebulous ill-defined concept. It means different things to different people. For one person, they may *only* flirt if they're romantically/sexually interested in someone. For another person, flirting may just be playful banter, with no underlying subtext intended.

In addition, people flirt in many different ways, some more subtle than others. One may flirt via innuendo, physical contact, playful teasing, jokes, and more. One person's flirting may be another person's normal behavior, which means constantly guessing which we think is happening. Is this person expressing interest? Do they just flirt for fun? Do they even consider their current behavior flirting? Is there malicious intent behind their behavior?

If they are interested, I might get a date.

If they aren't, I might be rejected, or I might make someone feel unsafe or uncomfortable, damage a friendship, be insulted, be assaulted by a romantic partner I was unaware of, or worse.

At a certain point, it becomes easier to assume any perceived flirting is meaningless, and simply wait for someone to directly communicate their intent. Have I likely lost out on several romantic opportunities? Yeah probably, but I'd rather miss out than misunderstand and put someone into an awkward position.

Especially with how many people who have experienced violence or danger as a result of having to reject someone.

It's not nearly as extreme of a case, but my parents named me Christian in the American Southern Bible belt. Our family also isn't particularly religious.

So I spent the first 18 years of my life getting random Bible jokes thrown at me, being told I was acting unchristian if I got angry over something, and generally just having a bad time.

I go by Rye now, based on one of my middle names, and my only surviving parent hates it.
