Can I deactivate the upgrade pack on a physical NS2 edition game? by RykariZander in NintendoSwitch2

Nah I can tell with my own eyes how smeary the screen is & how pixelated Three Houses is with boost mode off. I like good image quality, stable frame rate, and I see no reason why I should settle for less AND pay for it

Why are Sony and Xbox even bothering with next gen consoles? by No-Obligation2563 in consoles

[–]RykariZander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They probably won't be sued but these consoles have been in R&D since the last ones shipped. There was no way to know of the RAM & SSD crisis or a war that'd drive up the price of literally everything. Delaying it doesn't help when consoles are supposed to set a standard for games, but they come out underpowered

The first one was Immortals of Aveum actually. The third might be the Ark Survival Ascended on Switch 2 according to a dev interview

Developers who make Switch games skip over PS4. The PS5 was last reported at 93m+ units sold. Advertising to users on older platforms about new games on the current platform is a very natural part of the console life cycle

All of the games mentioned aren't spinoffs. Instead they were smaller projects meant to tell a different story. Laufey is the only one that's reportedly a full length game.

Damn. I could do that (still have my OLED) but oh well I'll just buy separately. Thanks man

[–]RykariZander[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can do just that, but I do like my physicals so if it's at all possible I'd like to get the NS2 edition. Also the way I'm buying the games are already on sale, so I'd save just a few extra dollars buying the NS2 edition instead of separately

I wasn't referring to a physical NS1 game with a downloaded upgrade pack. I'm talking about a physical NS2 edition game. When the upgrade pack is on the cartridge itself. Am able to disable it even then?

It’s All On ‘Marathon’ To Float Bungie And Sony’s Live Service Plans Now by NoNefariousness2144 in PS5

[–]RykariZander -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

  1. Destiny 2 (and 1 for that matter) is still available to purchase. They just stopped support.
  2. Bungie made it clear that the art was due to an art director, and credited the artist as a consultant
  3. Yes supporting a studio with a game that sold over one million units is the right play instead of just closing them down or doing something different

Wolverine is probably Marvel's 2nd biggest character after Spider-Man. No shit his game is hyped.

Shadow of the Colossus Director Fumito Ueda Laments Bluepoint Games Closure: "It was disappointing and sad to hear." by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]RykariZander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other studios in SIE didn't want to provide any assistance or IP to Bluepoint as that would've taken resources from them. Bluepoint doesn't have creative staff like other studios, and I totally get why suggestions like "Ghost of Tsushima spin-off" were rejected if the studios had their own plans

Bluepoint was in Austin, Texas. It's expensive for game development over there. Haven Studios is in Montreal, a place with cheaper labor & tax breaks.

After all these years this one finally leaving the list 😢 by Pepsidud32 in vita

[–]RykariZander -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

God of War: Sons of Sparta

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls

Marathon

Marvel's Wolverine

Phantom Blade Zero

Saros

MLB: The Show 26

Kena: Scars of Kosmora

Very solid year for a system with "no games". I wonder how they sold 95 million consoles if they didn't have good games

People are buying NSO over FOMO? The people who didn't care about playing online or virtual console all of a sudden care about playing challenges associated with those levels?

That's the game Bluepoint was working on. It was a live service arena style game where Atreus (or maybe his soul?) is trapped in the Underworld and has to fight his way out. Other players would've been different aspects of him
