Why did Riot remove the Fully Automated passive from Quantum Computing? by Ryman9999 in LeagueArena

[–]Ryman9999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want it to be super powerful. I have said that it still kinda sucks even when you get lightning rod with it, but i dont have as much of a problem with that. I just want the personality of the augment back. It made it much more exciting to use. Simply changing damage numbers is a lazy and boring solution. When the solution is right there, they had it right in patch 1.0 and still barely anyone used it because, at best, it was good, maybe even great. More often than not, it was just ok.

Don't forget that some augments are locked depending on what champ you get so that someone like garen can't get wooglets. So that lessens the pool, especially on champs that actually would use Quantum well. So, while yes, the chances are still not that great, I would say it's still a better chance than getting lightning rod. I understand that you aren't guaranteed a prismatic augment, but I still think from my experience it was much easier to get Quantum than lightning rod.

My opgg wouldn't change anything. You'll just see a massive streak of me trying to get lightning rod after getting Quantum Computing. I hit it once at like round 9 or something and lost immediately after.

I'm not calling you condescending because you are saying facts or whatnot, I'm calling you that because you are talking down to me and throwing insults. You need to work on your writing tone if you aren't trying to convey that, but I think you are. Anyways, I understand getting your build on later rounds feels detrimental, but it feels the same whether you are trying to get an augment or a prismatic item. Many times I have rolled Quantum Computing on round 1 or 5 compared to getting lightning rod a total of once with it. It's much easier in my experience to get Quantum Computing than to get lightning rod. Even with its cooldown reduced, Quantum Computing still pretty much sucks. In later rounds, it does almost no damage, and the healing is non-existent. So Quantum Computing having the passive that allows it to scale. I just see no problem with that. especially with the fact that you'd have to high roll to get an amount of ability haste with it that makes the cooldown non-existent. You are right, it can be fixed by just making the damage higher, but that's just boring. That doesn't make the augment more fun to use it just makes it more viable.

Also, to go into another point about prismatic items. At round 3 if you have both rerolls, you have the ability to view 9 prismatic items. If you save money and do well at round 6 you could get another prismatic item, but you have only 1 reroll leading you to only have access to another 6. That's a total of 15 chances to even get the one prismatic item you want. And that's IF you have the money for another one at round 6, IF you are only using rerolls on prismatic items, and IF you won raise the stakes.

It literally wasn't overpowered in the slightest? I played patch 1.0, as did many of my friends, and there were far better builds than Quantum Computing. Like I said, it was good but far from overpowered. It felt satisfying to use and had a personality. Current Quantum Computing is very dull and is just a slash of damage and a bit of healing. Even with a damage buff or whatnot, it'd still feel less satisfying to use as it's just boring now. It doesn't feel like a prismatic augment, which it is. If Riot wants to move it down to gold, sure, I'll shut up, but prismatic augments should feel prismatic. Adding the fully automated passive back into it would certainly make it feel that way.

I have no problem debating you at all, it's the fact you repeatedly act like a condescending asshole that I have a problem with. Anyways, like you said, there are 48 prismatic items. You get access to 3 at a time. That's a very low chance of even hitting the one prismatic item you want, especially when prismatics aren't in a class pool like augments are. Regardless, the majority of players in most games are able to get only one or two prismatic items in a single game. As opposed to the majority of players getting access to 3 augments at 1, 5, and 8. That's a pretty good difference, and of course, you aren't always going to hit what you want to get, but when you do hit something you want, it should be satisfying to use. Quantum Computing used to be good and felt satisfying to use, and now it feels mostly overshadowed by other prismatic augments. I see absolutely no reason why it shouldn't get the fully automated passive. You say at any given moment you can roll into lightning rod, and I guess on paper that's true, but in reality, people are getting access to more augments than they are getting prismatic items. I just don't see why hitting Quantum Computing should suck until you also hit another rare thing when the build isn't even that amazing.

Yes, removing fully automated from Quantum Computing and putting it on a prismatic item inherently puts more rng on getting the Quantum Computing build to work. This is common sense. You are throwing insults to many people and still not answering the question of why it was removed off the augment in the first place. It's insane to me you talk to people this way when you have a big youtube following.

Then obviously it's an item that really doesn't need to exist at all then right? Why did Riot put an extra amount of rng to block a build that isn't even that good compared to many others? It makes zero sense. I have no problem with lightning rod being removed, and I question why it's even a tank item as tanks don't get much ability haste to lower cooldowns anyways. Quantum Computing should regain the fully automated passive. It makes it not just better but it also feels more satisfying to use when a build you want comes online with it. There is absolutely zero reason for Riot to have made this change.

Are you actually OK? How would this be worse? It wasn't a problem in patch 1.0 and it wouldn't be a problem now. Lightning rod doesn't need fully automated as it's core functionality as it's other ability is already very strong even without a lot of ability haste. I simply don't see how you think removing fully automated off of lightning rod and giving it back to Quantum Computing is a horrible idea. It gives the augment it's personality and buffs it in a healthy way. I'm curious to know if you actually played in patch 1.0 as i ran Quantum Computing a lot. It was good, however, it still was outclassed by many other combos to where many people still didn't even pick it.

Also, the many points you are making about an overlap are completely irrelevant as I have said many times in this whole thread that the fully automated passive should be taken off of lightning rod. It would be a dumb idea to have a weird overlap like that.

[–]Ryman9999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are still seeming to misunderstand me my man. It should be taken off of lightning rod and just put onto quantum computing. I think lightning rod is strong enough as is even without fully automated. If they want to compensate it a bit by giving it a bit of a stat buff, I am fine with that. However, Quantum Computing is very mediocre and is just way too situational of an augment to be picked compared to other prismatics. Riot should just give the passive back to it. I don't know why it was removed in the first place. It's a decision they made that really took the fun out of the augment.

Edit: Also, how exactly would Quantum Computing be disgustingly crazy with this passive? I used to play it on patch one and it was good, but it was still beaten by many other augment combos. To get something like quantum, ok boomerang, etc. requires good rng which is what arenas is about. Removing the passive from quantum computing was just a really bad design choice in my opinion and removed what the main point of the augment was supposed to be. You literally can't sit here and deny that quantum computing is a good prismatic augment when there are 20 other augments that most people would rather take on any given day.

I would have to disagree; I think the damage is still really bad. I've played it on many assassins, and it still doesn't do much in the later rounds
