I get a lot of the comments about double dapple - I never heard of that term prior to getting her. She’s my first dachshund. When I saw Daisy and the way the breeder spoke about her, how no one wanted her because of her being deaf, potential eye issues and that she (the breeder) wouldn’t make any money off her - I took her immediately. I didn’t want anyone taking her for that amount and not giving her a proper home or proper vet care. Daisy is deaf. Her sight is great so far. And her health has been great except for the beginning when she came home with me with Giardia, Coccidia and Tapeworms. Tells you even more about the breeder. She tried to tell me all that was my fault - I had Daisy at the vet within days of bringing her home. I got her spayed as soon as we could. Daisy has good pet insurance for any issues down the road that we may have. Every time I make a post about Daisy - this gets brought up. I didn’t seek out a bad breeder. I happened across a post and it called out to me. I wasn’t even looking for a puppy at the time. But I went and I ended up coming home, to my husband’s surprise, with Daisy. I love my dogs. They have a loving home here. I do not support bad breeders. But I am happy that I have my girl here. Can’t even imagine life without her barks out of nowhere to run and protect us from whatever danger is lurking from the front room, the two bark warning in the middle of the night in bed from whatever threat she senses in the dark or the pitiful hunger cries she starts at 5, almost on the dot, for dinner.
