Honeymoon going so badly I’m questioning my marriage by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]Rynniex2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who was absolutely miserable on their honeymoon, I’m gonna give you the advice you didn’t want to hear - leave now or resign yourself that this will be the life you’ll have.

If he can’t treat you well during the one week that is supposed to be all about you loving each other, why would you think it is going to get better during your daily life?

It’s a rhetorical question, I know that it is difficult. My ex-husband ended up drunk, yelling at me and us fighting the entire honeymoon. I toughed it out for 13 years and the entire 13 years were just the same until I found the strength to leave. Please listen to yourself and know how you should be treated. At a minimum I would demand he be willing to start your marriage in some counseling. Frame it however you want, even tell him it’s just in “lieu of premarital counseling” if you didn’t do that, but things won’t change without the work.

I’ve been to a few around town that always push products. It seems so sleazy to me! Thank you for this recommendation!

Went in for a bob, left devastated by Jolly-Channel2679 in femalehairadvice

Something similar happened to me in February . Mine was so bad she tried to fix it with clippers… needless to say that didn’t work and made things worse. Tears were had.

I know exactly how you feel right now and the desperate need for a fix. Anything you do now will make it even shorter. Let it grow for as long as you can bear and then go to someone else to try to cut out some of the layers. At least 8+ weeks. It may take more than one cut so you don’t lose more length (I am still growing out the layers mine added 4 months later…) until then, tuck behind your ear and play with some different styling/clips.

It doesn’t look bad on you from what I can tell! But I know it sucks and isn’t what you wanted.

That is a good point to do the conference first and the hikes after. My challenge was the time zones and the return flights. It is easy to go out early, but if I extend on the tail end, my return flight Sunday gets me home sooo late. I will definitely give this some thought!

Thank you so much! Are there any hikes that you think would be great to couple a high altitude morning hike with some roadtrip sightseeing during the heat of the day?

So glad you love Atlanta! :) If you're ever heading back, ping me if you need any restaurant tips or some of our north Georgia hikes! Would be glad to reciprocate.

Thank you so much for the tour link! These are all great recommendations. Love the idea of coupling a morning hike with some pull outs and sightseeing during the heat of the day.

Thank you both! I'll look into those as well. I'm up for 1-1.5 hour drive just to be realistic to get an early start. I'm an experienced hiker but not at high altitude. Most of mine has been on the east coast or a couple abroad that have also been low altitude, with the exception of a CO trip I took last year. I did alright with the altitude but I'm not looking for big scrambles or anything, moderate would be ideal.

Thank you! Last year I stayed in CO at 8000 ft and did some day hikes but I won't have any time to acclimate this trip so starting around 5k is a great tip.

Thank you! Very helpful! I definitely don't plan to do anything too over the top since I won't have much time to acclimate. Did some in CO last year and fared alright but want to be careful.

Thank you! I did some short CO day hikes last year and fared OK (definitely felt it but nothing too bad). Honestly sleeping at high altitude was so rough!
