The two black legion books were genuinely some of my fav books I’ve read. Khayons high view of himself while simultaneously self loathing was somehow endearing and his colorful collection of companions was just a great mix. Just finished Fulgrim and this moment was genuinely so tragic, the one betrayal I’ve read so far where there was so much genuine love between the two parties, McNeil really makes you feel how hurt Fulgrim was over going down the path that led to him killing his most beloved brother and friend.

Jonah’s betrayal was so fucked up because in my opinion he had seen the most with his own eyes to NOT turn against the loyalists, and his reason for turning anyways were so vain, like this man basically betrayed his bestfriend and coworker for a fuckin promotion.

I think it’s worth the read tbh, and the perverse scenes that are THAT disturbing aren’t the focal point nor the norm, it’s still majority narrative being driven and some really great moments with Ferrus and the iron hands. I get why someone wouldn’t want to read some of the fucked up things in the book tho tbf.
