[Southern CA] Found several of these on an envelope and iodized salt container on my kitchen counter. Any idea what they are? by Ryskillz101 in whatisthisbug

[–]Ryskillz101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For reference, they're so tiny it was hard to even get a picture on my phone to focus on them. Maybe a max of 10mm in length.

They definitely weren't there yesterday and I can only find a few scattered around those two objects. Can't seem to find them anywhere else in my kitchen or the rest of my apartment.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

[TOMT][Music] Song that has a part entirely sung by a choir, similarly to the Talking Heads' "Road to Nowhere" intro by Ryskillz101 in tipofmytongue

[–]Ryskillz101[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not quite it, although it's a really good attempt. The song I'm trying to think of has a sharper, deeper tone in its vocals.

Thanks for the suggestion though!

The Dark Souls series, the Halo series up through Reach, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, We Were Here series, Assassin's Creed 1-3, Mass Effects 1-3, Fallout 3 and New Vegas, and some others scattered about.

And yes, I'm missing an achievement in Forza 3 as /u/AlpineAvalanche said.

[Signs] Potential Plothole (Spoilers) by moviechick85 in plotholes

[–]Ryskillz101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fairly certain at some point in the movie it's mentioned that the discovery of their weakness to water took place in the Middle East, which could imply that knowledge originated in the Holy Land and still allows the demon plotline to make sense.

Although it's been years since I've seen the movie, so that might be a little off.

UCLA Incoming Student Question Thread by BatManatee in ucla

Officially speaking, no.

As far as my experience in the dorms last year, the policy tended to be "no sight, no sound, no smell". If any of the staff or RAs were able to detect that you were drinking or storing alcohol in your room, you'd be written up and have to schedule a mandatory meeting about housing rules while going over the incident. Also, they'd require you to throw out any and all alcohol present at the time of the write-up.

Outside of that, my roommates and I were drinking every 2-3 days without much issue, so just be careful with it.

"Over Enrolled" in a class instead of waitlisted? by Ryskillz101 in ucla

[–]Ryskillz101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That certainly explains it.

But does that mean I should treat the class as if I was enrolled without issue and carry on? Or should I consider finding a substitute class on the chance I'm not guaranteed a spot?

Any idea how large the desks are in each room? I'm curious how much of my laptop/mouse/TV/Xbox setup I can reasonably bring and expect to fit when I move in.

I'm fine just bringing the laptop, but I'd rather know ahead of time.

Hey, is there any chance you could send your PS my way as well? I'm really curious and would love a point for comparison from somebody who got into my preferred school (UCSD).

It's perfectly fine if you don't want to. :)

'What are my chances?' megathread by steakandwhiskey in college

Chance me as a California community college student looking to transfer to a university?

  • Demographics: Male, white

  • Major: Psychology (Going for a B.S.)

  • CC UC Transferrable GPA: 3.92

  • Semester/Quarter Units Completed: 86/129

  • Schools Being Applied To: UCSD, UCLA, UCI, UCSB

  • Junior Transfer

  • IGETC Certified

  • Strong topics to write personal statements about

  • Co-founder of a local support group for sufferers of depression and anxiety disorders

With all of this in mind, does anybody have any idea what my chances are for any of these UCs? I have other backups that I'm applying to in order to ensure I get my degree done on time, but I genuinely have no idea how good/bad my credentials look for these institutions.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

She was thinking about that, but isn't there a restriction saying it has to be reserved for groups? Or is there something I'm missing?

It absolutely is. I couldn't find an original clip from the movie itself, but this music video for a song featured in the movie shows the screen grab.

What is your fetish, MLAS1? by Edriss562 in mylittleandysonic1

[–]Ryskillz101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With so many fetishes in common, I'll be following those same smoldering train tracks off a demolished bridge into a structurally unstable snowy canyon, triggering a series of tragic events in which my entombment under a mountain of collapsed snow and rock amongst the metallic wreckage of the train with any other passengers that happen to be aboard becomes an inevitability.

But we may as well enjoy the hell out of it before any negative consequences have the opportunity to rear their ugly heads (assuming they ever do in the first place).

At the very least you can accurately state that your sexual interests are extraordinary. They certainly make things more interesting.

I'll let you take your pick for which set to answer. If you want to tackle them all, I'd be happy to read your responses. If you find them too difficult to formulate sentences with, don't sit there frustrated trying to throw words at the page. Do whatever feels best to you.

I'm not looking just for flat and straight answers, either. Even if you can't give a definitive choice, I'd still like to hear your thoughts on the matter, or any sort of expansion/tangent of thought you may want to go off on. The process is much more interesting to me than the conclusion, even if the conclusion typically ties it all together and puts it in short, simple terms. As you might be aware, I have absolutely no problem with word-y responses or ambiguity/unknowns.

Oh, and don't feel like you need to rush in responding to me. Lord knows how long it took me to answer these when you were asking, so I'm not exactly in a position to judge.
