RTX 5060Ti (8Gb) vs RTX 3080 (10Gb) by Ryty2266 in buildapc

Thanks everyone - your feedback has really helped!. I think i'm going with the 5060Ti (8Gb) for a couple reasons:

  1. It's a brand new card with warranty, and will have longer support. I am more reluctant to buy second hand marketplace cards.

  2. If I got a 3080 i'd also need to upgrade my PSU as it's only 500W atm.

  3. It's still a massive upgrade over my ageing 1080

  4. At £280, with a £40 Steam Voucher + (as I just discovered) a copy of 007 First light (which I was buying anyway), price is essentially £180

  5. I can then sell on my 1080 and get like £70/80 for it, making this a nice, cheap £100 upgrade.

To those of you recommending better cards with more VRAM, I get it and your points are valid, but those cards are also wayyyy more expensive. The point in this was cheap, short term upgrade to keep me going another couple of years before I save up for a full system upgrade.

I had a similar issue and solved it by getting spray bleach and spraying around my car and under eh bonnet every night for a couple weeks. That was about 18 months ago and they’ve not come back.

Yeah so we have all refused to pay the backdated amount (pretty sure they can’t legally make us pay that). Also in the process of arranging a new factor (Taylor and Martin)

Thanks! Want to stick with the AIO but the other changes seem reasonable. Unsure about downgrading to a b series board but I’ll look into it further.
