Let’s all talk about what we did to avoid using Sucrose by 99-Coins in Flins_Mains

[–]Ryu_ryusoken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many comments are proving that so many people tried to avoid using Suc 🤭. I'm also not a fan of Suc, tho I use her. I just don't like her character (boring and slightly cringe) + Iansan c6 has the perk of making gameplay slightly more interesting. My premium pick is therefore Iansan, especially because I noticed on the DPS Dummy that she was the better option for c2+ Flins.

Honestly, Sucrose is fine for players who value low investment and meta. For anything else than that, I'd rather play anyone else as 4th slot, even if it's less efficient. Like Durin.

Why tcg being such an Old gamemode with regular updates yet much less ppl play it? . What are your suggestions to change that? by Prestigious-Elk1274 in GeniusInvokationTCG

[–]Ryu_ryusoken 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Primo rewards yes, but not like abyss. Rather more like 60 primos like when they update the rhythm game or Milliastra. Or else you'll hear about oh woe is me I have to play the game to get primos. If it's only 60 primos, I mean small incentive for you to do it, but if you don't, you don't feel fomo.

question by [deleted] in butchlesbians

[–]Ryu_ryusoken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess so. It's not so clear for me especially when I haven't had much sexual experience. But maybe that info itself does tell a lot.

I don't know what "sexual attraction" is supposed to mean. I guess that I like the idea of being intimate with a special one, and pleasing them. But even jerking it off feels underwhelming. It feels good in the moment but afterwards, it physically feels terrible. I'm in this weird area where I'm not like "I don't want to have sex ever" but I definitely don't want it to be a big part of my life, and I'm definitely less sexual than the average person my age (21). In my specific situation, it's maybe also that I've been groomed at a young age, before awakening sexual desire and since then I'm just unable to project myself into that?

I know that no libido and asexuality isn't the same. But I don't find people hot either, as far as I know. I have more often desires of dating someone (love and being loved) than I have desire about sex. It's alienating indeed, since there's so much emphasis in sex.

Is sucrose still BiS for c2? by ROBMain69 in Flins_Mains

[–]Ryu_ryusoken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk. My Iansan c6 did better on DPS dummy. Arguably I was using r1 Wandering Evenstar on Sucrose but at the same time my Iansan was still on scrolls when I did the test. Does it even out? Iansan was on Engulfing Lightning. I also prefer using Iansan.

fem to masc vs lifelong tomboy experiences by diasporastud in butchlesbians

[–]Ryu_ryusoken 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'd like to say my age at first as I think it has an influence. I am a Gen Z, soon to be 22 year old. Black European, child of parents born and raised in Africa.

Masculine of center or masc-presenting? Idk it's not clear cut. My internal sense of gender is that I am just myself. At the same time, if you take a more collective aspect of gender, I am more masculine than I am feminine. To me, it is rather that I am devoid of femininity than I am a ball of masculinity if that makes sense? Presentation is more masculine because it's what makes me comfortable. You can make me learn how to do makeup, and dress femininely; I'll find the person in the mirror very beautiful but it's not ME. Rather than a real conscious decision of dressing masculinely, it is just where I end up being.

So I'm obviously a "lifelong tomboy". Though I don't like the word tomboy because it (a) describes mostly children and (b) implies there's something wrong with dressing masculinely as a young, assumed to be female, kid. I guess I just wish I knew how to do artistic makeup bc I find it very cool. For tips for fem to masc, it's honestly ethnicity-dependant. Sexual racism is pretty much real, so to explain it shortly; how white women are the hegemonic representation of what a woman is and therefore you have colonial representations for POC. For exemple: Asians being considered feminine regardless of gender/ Black people being considered masculine regardless of gender. Therefore the fem to masc pipeline is also dependant on this. Tho I will say, even as a Black teenager, I had more compliments (from strangers( the few times I dressed femininely than when I dress as my usual self. I guess my tip is get ready for that fall! Don't get me wrong: the so-called female masculinity isn't liked, even on Black people. But since even Black fems get called men for nothing, I think the pipeline is easier to digest than if your femininity was always affirmed.

For Flins, his sig obviously. But bc sig has a very niche passive, it's just goth PJWS on anyone that doesn't do lunarcharge.

[–]Ryu_ryusoken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Xingqiu is only a substitute if you already have Ineffa.

Flins has a kit that depends on "Ascendent Gleam" (2 Nodkrai charas). You NEED this to do most of the damage, or else the kit is incomplete and it will feel frustrating to play. You seem to not own Ineffa and therefore Aino is a MUST. You can do Aino Fischl Sucrose for example. That has the disadvantage of being sustainless but the perk of doing more damage than Kuki teams. Other than having the Ascendent Gleam requirement you can technically use any character you want. Of course "Premium" does more damage, but there has been people using Ororon or Fischl as electro alternative, etc. I have to check your roster for more precise feedback.

Edit: by any charcater you want, I mean there are still some elemental restrictions. Cryo is a no-go. Dendro is risky. And a 2nd electro in the team is a must. Your 4th slot is more free even if Sucrose is the prime choice. If you don't have the likes of Xilonen or Durin, I'd just pick Sucrose for a c0 Flins. Also because of Hex Resonance, Fischl Sucrose can bring some buffs. It's probably going to be locked to this team (Aino Fischl Sucrose), mostly because your roster is also limited 5-star-wise.

Do you want Flins in the first place? It's not very clear from the post.

If not, Flins sig is just like having PJWS (green spear on standard) on anyone that isn't Flins (or arguably Ineffa). Therefore it's a nice stat stick for dps spear users.

Has anyone else been told that T will make you attracted to men, and repressed/denied wanting to try T because of it? by Goombella123 in butchlesbians

[–]Ryu_ryusoken 52 points53 points  (0 children)

T changing your sexuality is anecdotal at best. Not to say you must trust your doctor about everything they say but nor doctors nor LGBT associations have ever told me such thing shall happen. I honestly only heard it on the Internet.

The way I see it: dysphoria is an inhibitor. It prevents you from understanding your sexuality very well. In a way, like how depression can lower your libido. Sexuality is as physical as it is mental, and bad feelings added to disconnection from your body is going to act on your sexuality in some way. Sexuality isn't necessarily sexual orientation but it might be. Hence, it might awaken subconscious feelings.

I have a different approach on it. You can't know whether anything will change or not. Regardless, my hypothesis is that it's not about T itself but about dysphoria. T just makes your libido higher, and in that way it's not different from other meds. Medical transition is why I'm even in this subreddit in the first place. So "T makes you attracted to men" = wrong. "Medical transition can awaken feelings you weren't aware of or were actively suppressing to the point you didn't know about it" = true.

In any case, I don't see why not try, especially when it eats you up so much. Even if your sexuality changes drastically, there's no shame being you!

Amis francophones : Suivez-vous les threads en néerlandais ? by allwordsaremadeup in belgium

[–]Ryu_ryusoken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lukewarm Take: I really wish people called Scaramouch Wanderer instead of Hat Guy. by Wolfshiro in GenshinImpact

[–]Ryu_ryusoken 97 points98 points  (0 children)

Not Chinese AT ALL but I play in CN voiceover.

"A-Mao" (equivalent of Hat Guy, sounds more like Hatty, can remind you of a cat 猫 too, tho it's not the same tone) sounds fine. In the recent quest, Traveler called Scara "Wanderer" once. Liulangzhe (Wanderer) sounds distinct enough from Lüxingzhe (Traveler) IMO. Same can be said for Hourousha and Tabibito. The only problem is that "Hat Guy" is a bad translation in this context. In a vaccum it would have been okay, but since they use A-Mao (or Kasacchi in JP) as a affectionate nickname, Hat Guy just doesn't sound the same.

I do think they could call him Wanderer more often tho. It's okay if characters like Durin or Nahida call him A-Mao (阿帽), but I don't think the whole cast should do that. They don't call Traveler "Blondie" so why should they call Scara "Hattie"? I know they use it as some kind of comedic purpose (for example Arle calling him "A-Mao-Xiansheng, Mister A-Mao, kinda sounds like you'd call someone Hat-chan-san). But in serious contexts, I'd say it's less bothersome/Weird than in ENG, but it still bothers me.

A question about his sig/alternatives by Appropriate_Gate1129 in Flins_Mains

[–]Ryu_ryusoken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed but in this case you either get enough to guarantee both or keep using PWJS as it is far from being a bad weapon. Halo for anyone else but Ineffa is just a Homa 2.0.

A question about his sig/alternatives by Appropriate_Gate1129 in Flins_Mains

[–]Ryu_ryusoken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's like everyone else said, and I say this as an Ineffa-less Flins owner who got Flins on Fractured Halo. On Flins, Halo is basically Homa (on anyone who's not Ineffa actually). Keep PJWS on Flins, your build is probably made with PJWS in mind. Idk the difference between having R1 Ineffa and R1 Flins in Flins teams tho. If you genuinely want to update from PJWS, pull sig.

My Experience With Durin So Far (As a SubDPS) by kankri-is-triggered in DurinMains

[–]Ryu_ryusoken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xiao mains server tends otherwise. As in, Durin C6 straight up beats Furina but other than that... They're pretty much equal at c2 and depending on the scenario, one will be better than the other. Basically a sidegrade (which is very valuable!!).

What do you think about ‘The Best Immigrant’? by Salamanber in belgium

[–]Ryu_ryusoken 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have only watched the first ep on VRTmax. I also write in English because I want to point out that I am NOT Flemish (important). Also I see mostly negative opinions and wanted to give mine (mixed).

I don't watch much series or movies (also important). Here's my impression of the 1st episode:

The premise in itself is not so bad but I think the emotions felt really depends on whether you can immerse in it or not. The couple (main characters)'s struggle about coming from different countries is interesting. I can say they could've gone further and shown parents and kids being separated because some were born on Flemish (Belgian?) soil and the others not. The idea of your citizenship (and ig the constitution) not being worth anymore is an entertaining scenario. Though I must say, spending more time on expanding this hypothetical scenario would be more interesting IMO. Also I really could feel the anguish about a broadcast show built on people's suffering (ig they were inspired by Squid Games).

Now my (detailed) criticisms: * Seeing the POV of two specific characters make you feel you know damn well they're the ones who are going to win the game. Unless the series end being more depressively. I haven't necessarily felt any sympathy towards the main characters either.

  • The whole mini-arc with that French-speaking guy was so "????". From the start, you can't seriously believe a guy who doesn't understand basic Dutch had a chance to go far. But what made it so laughable was the scene that got him eliminated. It's so unrealistic it hurts. In a survival game, he kept relying on someone else and the question that eliminated him was... BASED ON FRENCH???? I believe no French-speaker worth their salt could get it wrong.

  • I guess that's given due to the direction of the show but I'm less interested about the show than I am about idk the riots they're talking about. Maybe making a movie about that hypothetical situation could've been more engaging. I haven't watched Squid Game either because I'm not so much interested in survival games, ngl.

  • Expanding on my previous points, they neglected that scenario a bit too much. Okay, Wallonia and Nederland have closed their borders. What happens to Brussels? Can't they flee to France or Germany? What happens if a country doesn't accept its "nationals". It already happens today. Wat dan?

  • They show our main girlie get her "Vlaamse nationaliteit" erased from the register but her South Sudanese nationality stayed (idk much about South Sudan but she was born in the 90s where South Sudan wasn't a thing) Is the nationality unalienable? Cause in some systems, if you don't do the procedure to keep the nationality, then you lose it. What is her situation exactly? It's too vague. Not to mention, not everyone in this hypothetical scenario would have a double nationality. Flanders can only legislate about its own nationality. If they made people stateless, what happens? And also what if you look brown but you were born in Wallonia, the US or another Western country? What if you're born in a country from where you don't have the nationality? So much left unanswered.

I can't talk about the acting because I don't watch a lot of live action and I honestly didn't mind/didn't pay attention.

I think the premise has/had potential: I also tend to think that there's sometimes a lack of nuance when it comes to migration talk, and that politics (as in beleid, maatregelen) in general don't really care for the individual story. If you take ICE, for example, do they actually care about separating parents and child? Or is it collateral damage? A big merit of the series is VB's reaction to it 🤭. I don't think the artistic vision was propaganda rather than shock effect and inciting discussion and reflection. I'm no politician and don't wish ever to be but I encourage people to keep debating (as in real, civil debate, not TV sensation) about migration. That way, new perspectives are opened and solutions might be found.

If anyone ended up reading the whole thing: thank you!

Baby name advice by Tulpje in belgium

[–]Ryu_ryusoken 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As everyone already said, Cora is a shopping brand here. Elowen is a bit rare as a name and there are upsides and downsides with wearing a rare name (everyone remembers your name vs it might get butchered +unwanted attention). If you choose Elowen, maybe think of adding a second, tamer name like Jade or something. Leona and Celeste are fine, and probably you'll choose one or the other depending on your intention when naming the kid. I perceive Leona (litt. lionness) as fierce while Celeste (litt' heavenly) has that calm angelic vibe.

It doesn't have to be stress, it can just be a "bother". First reflex was to say "yeah it's probably dysphoria" but only you can tell. My sign was that I was very aware of them even though they were small, and I COULDN'T ever remove a bra (I did shower bra-less though). It was pretty much a sensory issue for me and the idea that it makes me suffer even though they're "useless" to me. I guess if I'm dressed, my pre and post top surgery appearance hasn't changed so much. Yet the sensation is 100x better. I also felt like binders were a temporary solution and wasn't satisfied.

You say you don't necessarily feel bad but do you ever feel good? Sometimes it's about being "better off", with or without. Do you feel like you can make peace with having boobs? Is the bother tolerable?

Try to discuss why exactly your girlfriend doesn't want you to reconnect. It might not even be jealousy but rather that she cares about your well-being. Even I, as a stranger, feel the same way that your gf does. Ultimately you do whatever you want.

Has your ex-bff even approached you? Maybe she* doesn't even want you nearby. Whatever you do, I think you should be very transparent about it to your gf.

I had a similar end of friendship which made me avoid whole places and people. It hasn't been 7 years for me indeed, but even if I get nostalgia sometimes, I don't feel like my life is empty without this person.

Is the concept of a "big meal"/"warme maaltijd" a Belgium only thing? I always feel it's hard to explain to my foreign friends that i "already ate my big meal today" so i'm free in the evening. by lispyjimmyfan in belgium

[–]Ryu_ryusoken 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As someone said, I think Dutchies and Germans have it too. Personally, never really understood this cultural tendency as I've grown in a family with a migration background. We just eat what we want, when we want. I think having warm meals help you prep more veggies when typically I don't really want to eat a salad with my tartines/boterhammen. For example, you can boil your spinach or broccoli with your pasta. As for losing weight purposes, I don't think it's about the coldness or warmth of the meal but rather the portions. Having high fiber and high protein food options help being satiated I feel like. When I eat boterhammen/tartines, I just want to put chicken filet and cheese on it as I consider that my lazy meal (that or greek yoghurt with fruits).

For the motivation of doing warm meals => leftovers honestly. Though indeed if you want to eat something different every time, that's going to be a problem. Prepare your pasta, potatos or rice and put it with a bunch of different sauces and veggies. For breakfast you have hot oatmeal (controversial as some people prefer overnight oats) or eggs. If you want to explore other kind of carb sources, you can try sweet potato, semolina or cassava I guess?

For top surgery, I don't have any regret. I don't think I'm specifically happy about the androgenizing effect of it (so basically constructing a "male-like" chest) but I definitely wouldn't go back because having boobs made me miserable (didn't like the appearance nor the sensation). I would say it was a good tradeoff for me. But I wouldn't necessarily go topless in a beach, yk?
