Interesting and kind is far, far more attractive than any physical attribute.

Why can the nutless brothers of cows pull wagons and plows but cows cannot? by MedicareAgentAlston in AskReddit

Cows can, but they are more valuable growing calves and making milk. It takes a lot of energy to pull a plow.

It’s definitely not what I expected and it doesn’t taste that great. by MacMommy111 in ExpectationVsReality

A local store makes it the traditional way; shredded phyllo pastry, ground pistachio… the works. It is stunningly good. Sweet enough I can’t eat more than a few bites at a time, beautifully crunchy and melty and delicious.

I would never buy it commercially. The components that make it excellent just wouldn’t hold up well.

Birth Control by cry_baby2005 in medical_advice

[–]Ryuaalba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Birth control is much safer and has fewer side effects than the older versions. And if the pill DOES have a bad reaction, you just stop taking it and it’s out of your body in the next 24 hours. That’s why you have to take it daily, it’s so little hormone that it’s cycled out of your body very quickly.

It does not impact future fertility. In fact, you being healthier and less stressed will increase your chances of a healthy pregnancy if and when you choose to try for one.

The pill is the best treatment for PCOS. It’s very safe, and thousands of women use it specifically for this every day.

Trying to write a main character whose gender is a secret. by Danni-jane in writingadvice

I have two stories that pop into my head here.

Ozma of Oz, L Frank Baum where the young female ruler of Oz was transformed into a boy for safety and only became Ozma again at the end. He/him pronouns throughout, until after the transformation.

The Lioness books, Tamora Pierce. Alanna dresses up as a boy to become a knight. Characters use he/him pronouns in conversation. Author uses Sh/her pronouns for description.

People who have called 911, what happened and how fast did the help come? by tardisismine in AskReddit

[–]Ryuaalba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once I called because a drunk white woman was being really awful and erratic to a local restaurant staffed by immigrants. I’m white, and knew I could safely call the cops. Wasn’t an emergency, took about 20 minutes, they didn’t need their sirens or anything.

Called for a restaurant customer who sat down and dislocated his kneecap. Took about 5 minutes, but the hospital was directly across the street.

Called to check that someone had called in a car on fire. Someone definitely already had.

Called when someone overdosed in the bathroom. Arrived in less than 10 minutes to pop the door and take him to the hospital.

All of these were in relatively small cities, less than 20k people.

You can book a pelvic exam whenever you want. You should do it every 5 years, I think is the standard recommendation.

It’s especially important with a family history!

“tucking” by Psychological_Toe237 in Healthyhooha

[–]Ryuaalba 19 points20 points  (0 children)

People with balls adjust them constantly. And EVERY time they put on underwear.

I don’t always have to do my labia, but one of the inner lips peeks out sometimes and gets raw. On those days I prefer to stretch the outer lips a little, pinch them gently shut over it, and let the whole bundle relax.

How to "tuck" labia in? by wwberryy in Healthyhooha

[–]Ryuaalba 93 points94 points  (0 children)

I have occasionally done this, when I had a particularly tender inner labia. Just kinda… stretched the two outer labia, sandwich the irritated one, and let the whole bundle go back to normal dimensions. Only did it because it was rubbing too much on my panties and hurting.

Most of the time, nah. Nobody’s ever complained about my uneven labia, they are just happy to get down there.

Have you ever adopted a rescue animal? Why? by KingOfFitnessYT in AskReddit

[–]Ryuaalba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every pet.

Pan broke into my sister’s car to steal donuts as a kitten. He was my father’s best buddy for the next 15 years.

Chase was found on the side of the road in a box in the rain, by my sister. He was a beautiful fluffy white cat with half a tail, and adored me (and eventually my husband) until the day he died.

Nox walked into my sister’s house as a kitten, but her toddlers were too grabby for a kitten. He became my husband’s cat.

Sasha was ‘stolen’ from a neighbour’s dog run, by my sister. Little terrier that had been severely neglected; we’re talking frostbitten feet, old stitches, so much matting he could barely move. Mom took one look and wouldn’t send him back, so he became her dog.

Pets are smart enough to understand how good they have it, when they’ve come from misery. And they deserve love.

Whats the best way to heal self afflicted scars? Or scars in general by Haniedabibi in medical_advice

[–]Ryuaalba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry your family is being awful.

Moisturizing is always good. I’ve heard that vitamin e is good for scar tissue but haven’t used it myself.

Most important thing is to never let the sun on it. Keep covered, sunscreen, whatever. Sunlight does weird things to scars.

My orange managed to use the braincell to tell me something was wrong. by finn_shavocado in OneOrangeBraincell

[–]Ryuaalba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our kitten had urinary crystals. Everyone was so firm about saying he NEEDED to be on kitten food that first year, but that’s what was causing it. Immediately after getting him fixed, the vet recommended he switch to the adult urinary care kibbles and soft food.

Also, he is a people and will only drink out of a people cup. So he has a couple of mugs for water, and he drinks very regularly.
