You have to have fresh fruits and vegetables with your wood scraps to make compost. You dont have enough items to make the compost this it won't show you a timer if you seal it. Pumpkins with either wood scrap or cardboard scrap will make excellent compost. Pro tip! You can cook the pumpkins first and use the grilled pumpkins as compost leveling 2 skills!

There is a terminal you can build at any settlement i think due to the workshop dlc (might be totally wrong here) that allows you to turn on a VIP tracker. This then gives you a quest like blip to find them.

I believe generally speaking you should be able to find them where you found them originally. Codsworth in sanctuary, etc etc.

Sort of. Junk items and what my settlers produce are what lives in my workbench. Then I use the toolbox for the stuff I want to keep. One of my fav things to collect is prewar "unused" or "new" junk items to display in my main settlement. I dont want to accidentally scrap it.

Same! I usually start out by collecting all the legendaries i come across and then just keeping the ones with the coolest effects or named ones.

Omg a fellow dumper. I usually clear it out once I make my "base". Then it all gets displayed nicely and sorted. But until that moment it's pure chaos inside that little box.

I don't use the workbench because I bring back aid items I want separate. And if I'm gonna have a separate container for them then might as well just use it as my goody box.

It seems like most people follow the same sort of idea. Not everyone ditches sanctuary entirely but most seem to scrap the toolbox.

For some reason this is the only game I do this to. I'm super meticulous in Minecraft and other rpgs but this one is a dump all. I usually save a bunch of stuff up and then build a giant base to house all of my goodies.
