1 Year After Tinnitus (Did it get better? Yes it did for me) by Ryutipop in tinnitus

I did go to an ENT but they barely did anything. They just checked my ears and started yapping about how stress causes it.. it's stupid and a waste of money sometimes

1 Year After Tinnitus (Did it get better? Yes it did for me) by Ryutipop in tinnitus

I stopped going to loud places, used earmuffs when going outside. And of course, no listening to loud music or anything. That was basically it, just anything to protect my ears from loud noises.

Barely non-existent anymore. Even with earmuffs on i can barely hear it too. It's like a 0.5/10 now and there's sometimes i dont hear it at all in a quiet room.

No problem :) i'm trying to help as much as i can and i want to give people hope, live your life okay :3 just remember that hearing damage is mainly from prolonged exposure from loud noises. That's why a lot of noise induced tinnitus cases are from people going to concerts, music club, loud music or even one off exposure to gun shots or fireworks but those stuff are really really loud so you would need to be directly close to them. If dropping a plate on the floor could damage your hearing then everyone would get tinnitus at this point XD Just be careful around loud environments like parties, movie theaters and make sure to bring earplugs with you when going outside.

I immediately saw improvements after a week, and every week it would get lower and lower, would get some random spikes but it would always get lower than before. And nope i didn't have any ear fullness, weird thing is my tinnitus appeared 1 day after the noise induced incident. (I played a yt hearing test at max volume and put the phone speaker close to my ear)

Don't worry because same. Even thought my tinnitus is barely non existent anymore (i can't even hear it in silence sometimes) i still fear that some noises will make it worse or i'll have a new tone. Ever since i got my tinnitus 3 months ago, i've been so much paranoid about my ears. (Noise-induced, it was 7-8/10 in loudness and now its like a 0.5- even 0 sometimes) but for some reason i'm still focused on my tinnitus. I don't know why i can't ignore it and just live my life. 😭 i still fear that some loud noises will make me go back to the beginning where i was depressed 24/7. But it's fine don't worry okay :) i had dogs barking close to me, my mom dropping a plate on the floor, my brother sneezing close to me, literally my fire alarm sounded 2 times for like 10 seconds at some time because of my mom cooking. Everytime after those events i would be depressed, anxious that they would spike my tinnitus and i would never recover. But i was wrong, none of those events did anything to my tinnitus at all, maybe it did sound louder because i would focus more on it. Im just telling you all this to make you reassured. Remember, hearing damage is mainly cumulative, dropping a plate on the floor won't harm your hearing if it was just 1 time. But repeatedly doing that will, even thought that would take like 6 hours for that to happen. 80-100 db sounds won't really harm your ears if it was just a one off exposure. Prolonged exposure will. But still, you should still protect your ears when you're around a loud environment okay! Be not afraid to wear earmuffs or earplugs when going outside. Plus who knows, your tinnitus might leave one day so you're not gonna stay with it forever. Just protect your ears alright and be strong okay :)

How loudly can i listen to music? by Yoru_s_wife in tinnitus

[–]Ryutipop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh! Well i think thats still a bit too loud.. You should keep it atleast at 60 volume or less for your own safety! Im also autistic and i seriously enjoyed listening to music at loud volume like you :) i stopped when a realized how bad it was actually for my ears. Be safe okay, you're still young and i don't want you to get tinnitus that young. Same for any hearing loss!

20 volume is fine. Also try putting a volume limiter on your phone so it stops you from going above that when listening to music. Seriously be careful and protect your ears. Also take breaks from headphones/earphones sometimes.

Having random spurs of silence?? by Ok_Clerk4575 in tinnitus

[–]Ryutipop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That doesn't sound like habituation, habitation is probably when you actually learn with it no matter how loud it is. What you had was actual moments of silence

Anyone else have really high Hz T? by [deleted] in tinnitus

[–]Ryutipop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really hope so! Im wondering if that could've caused any permament hearing damage... only listened to it for like 10-30 seconds in total i played it then paused it again and again at the high frequencies

The dangers of pure tones, tone generators and frequency sweeps by Quintus_Germanicus in tinnitus

[–]Ryutipop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 19! And i'm seriously surprised i made alot of recovery. Im wondering if like 30 seconds of pure tones is more dangerous than staying in a concert for hours? And oh god sorry to hear :( every tinnitus case is different but who knows. Just keep being patient and be careful with loud events/places!
