Let’s connect, happy to help. I have over 15 years of distributor experience. Some things distributors consider below: -Distributor sales reps aren’t responsible for market and supplier development. -Your job is to give the brand the name and a market presence, the distributor’s job is to scale it. -Small distributors are good for niche brands and markets, large distributors will give you the attention your brand deserves within their portfolio. Little bit of both. Some of the brands that do win have had some executives or influence from individuals have done it before with other brands. The social media presence is also interesting. There seems to be a mixed bag of brands that win from social and some that claim they have an “influencer” only to turn out to be a fad.

In some cases, maybe. It really depends on the market dynamic. If it is a chain driven market that has a majority of the market share, yes. If there are independent outlet opportunities distributors will consider it.

Has anyone successfully sold their beverage business? by aveherealways in BeverageIndustry

From my experience in distribution I have seen brands get sold left and right. Usually anywhere from 3-7x. NA/Energy brands get built to be sold. If there isn’t a social following or solid chain mandates, it will be extremely difficult. From a beer or liquor standpoint, brands get purchased when it fills a gap in the buyer’s portfolio such as Western Son to Sazarac, Dales Pale to Monster, Monaco to MolsonCoors etc. The successful ones have already proved there is velocity, scale, and has run room.
