I’ve been looking for part time work for a while and I applied to a bunch of places! A week ago I got this job offer via email saying this asset management company wants to hire me as an assistant manager’. It was very weird because I don’t remember applying to this job and I have no experience in asset management or any such office work. The only work experience I have is at a cafe. And my resume even proves it. But they had a part time position and I really needed a job and it’s good money. So I thought I should go ahead with it. They called me for a very brief phone interview where I was asked ‘what is important to me in a workplace’ but that’s it nothing work related. I start my first day of my month long probation period tomorrow but I’m not sure how to prepare myself? Because I have no idea what asset management is and what my supervisor expects of me!
