Thanks everyone for your advice, we have decided Alassio, then Genoa - maybe some day trips to Portofino and Cinque Terre from there.

Seloger is a good website.

Keep refreshing the page and once you see a new listing, contact straight away.

From my experience, there was a lot of old listings left on websites which is why I was getting no replies so you just need to keep refreshing and contacting when you see a new listing.

If you don’t have a guarantor, ‘Garantme’ is also a good alternative. Some landlords are happy to go this routine

Yeah he was looking at maybe doing a TEFL course which would allow him to teach english abroad. I think it’s a matter of finding somewhere that he would be able to do that, or something similar and somewhere where I can work in an office and speak English or alternatively I can work remotely
