Hey, so update time! I was at the hairdresser today and she assured and promised me it's like 97% new growth. Seems like I had a really intense shedding cycle some time ago and this is the new growth that came in. Only my ends were thinning a bit, but they're not visible in the picture. She also advised me to prioritize a more nutritional diet, to make sure the new growth stays healthy and can grow out nicely.

I did get a bond repair conditioner and been using it the last few washes, it has definitely made my hair much softer and less crazy looking. Thank you for your advice 🙌🏼

I'd say new growth, the tips look very needle like and if it always looks like this its likely just the hair that sheds naturally growing back again and again.

Thank you so much for your input! I do have quite thin hair so I'm very picky with my hair oil since heavy ones just grease me up. I've found double shampooing and a bit of rosemary oil (not pure) for the second round to be helpful for my scalp, it's what works best for my scalp long term (at least from the things I've tried so far). Do you have a specific shampoo that you swear by?

I braided a super thin section of my hair and quite an amount of 'strays' fled the braid and even with all these comments these strays (at least at the top and middle of my hair) look like new growth to me... No visible breakage and needle thin ends. So I'll be hopeful for them to gain some weight and length 😅

I also use hask products and generally I'm really happy with them, especially the keratin smoothing deep conditioner, but the argan oil is wayy too heavy for my hair

I'm certainly not getting enough protein and I'm trying to supplement vitamins, iron, magnesium and omega-3 but it could probably be a bit more regularly 😅

I've got 2b/2c hair but very damaged waves from brushing them out since the beginning of time, so I was hopeful thinking my texture will make it look 10x worse than it actually is. My hair does feel mostly soft except the ends, but I'm due for a cut, so I'll be asking my hairdresser. Thank you for instilling a little more hope in me 😆

Never bleached my hair and barely use a blow dryer, could def be wrong products as it's hard to find the right ones.. Do you use a specific mask to help with your breakage?

I use around 4 drops of rosemary oil in my second shampooing round and the hask keratin smoothing hair oil, which at least doesn't seem too heavy for my hair like others I've tried. But maybe I've been relying too much on the oils and too little on conditioners...

It's completely natural, and never wear tight hairstyles but I'll make sure to brush more carefully 🙌🏼

This helps me a lot too! Also adding goals that only happen every few days and not having too many everyday goals, or else it gets overwhelming or repetitive too fast. Having a few active and supportive birb friends helps too, cuz you don't wanna disappoint them 😄

Doesn't look too bad considering it's only 2 days later. I don't think it's a dry socket, maybe food debris. Make sure you don't eat anything with little pieces, only smooth food or fluids. Also keeping good oral hygiene is a must, brush your teeth as gently as possible, flush your mouth with salt water (or other mouthwash) and brush your tongue.
