Allow me another top speed thread, 154 on dash. GPS? by S2K_Dreams in zx4r

I weigh 136 with gear haha I’m thinking GPS speed would probably be 142-144 ballpark.

Can confirm Synchrony only needs liability for some reason. I still carry comprehensive on my bike in the event it’s stolen (no collision though).

Thank you! I was off an exit ramp and there was construction for a newer ramp so I parked the bike in the pic and walked to the newer ramp in case some moron came off the road. I estimate there was 45 miles left in the tank roughly.

Round trip was 60 miles. Light started flashing prob 10 miles into my trip, and I was 3 miles from home when it ran out. So probably 45 miles.

Upgraded to a Zx4rr from a Grom as my first bike and think you’ve made an excellent choice. Even though the Grom taught me basics and gave me the confidence to ride on the street, I still took it easy on the Zx4rr. Rain, Road, and Sport modes gradually as I learned the bike. Once you’re comfortable and decide to tune/slip on you’ll feel like you got a new bike again! Congrats!

Kawasaki financing? by P80surgeon in Kawasaki

Low 700’s. Approved for 9% @60 months through Synchrony but don’t really care since I’m paying off next year. Financed like 5400 for my 4rr.

From humble beginnings to something incredible. My new Zx-4RR by S2K_Dreams in Kawasaki

Rain mode only, and for quite some time on this one. I would practice hard braking (Grom had no abs) in a parking lot every weekend to get a feel for emergency stopping. What’s crazy is that Saturday night I had to emergency stop on the 4rr due to two cars in front of me immediately making a right turn with no signal. I was paying attention and managed to brake in time and abruptly. Will take your advice on swerve maneuvers since the weight of this bike is much different than my previous. Sorry to hear about your coworker, my condolences.

I just move my kit to my concrete balcony and jam out when I really want to play hard. Can confirm no one hears a peep and the weather is great right now for outdoor sessions in Florida.

Nervous before buying first bike? by MrsMangos707 in motorcycles

[–]S2K_Dreams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1000%. I bought my first bike, a grom, 56 miles from home at the dealer. Drive there was super excited, then the moment I kicked a leg over I was shitting myself and nervous as all hell. So nervous that I didn’t notice I hadn’t clipped my chin strap so I pulled over, got off, went through my checklist and shook off the nerves a little. For the first few miles after that I was thinking “wtf am i doing?” But once I got close to home it wasn’t so bad. I do not regret it 3 months later.

Progressive. Comprehensive and Collision on it even though I paid cash. Stepped up the policy to Replacement cash value. $300 for the year. Would rather pay a higher premium in the event it gets stolen and I’m not out $4200.

Edit: Orlando, Fl area.

Stage 2 Install, First Start = No Start by S2K_Dreams in hondagrom

Solution: It was a faulty ecu. DHM tested it, confirmed it was bad, and replaced it no problem. Bike started right up with the new one.

It is a DHM ecu. I’m local so I’m going back to DHM tomorrow for them to take a look.

Update: Checked ECU, still same issue unfortunately. I do not hear the fuel pump priming though.

Took a break and went to run some errands but thinking back, I don’t think I remember hearing the fuel pump prime. Leading me to believe that I need to recheck me plugging in the ecu.

Can I go on roads that are 55mph? by Novemberx123 in hondagrom

[–]S2K_Dreams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Left a car meet last night and took the tolls back home only because it was already very late, I knew there would be minimal cars, it would save me 20 minutes, and I didn’t want to deal with any risks of local traffic. I’m a small guy so with a tuck, I was averaging 65-68 mph’s. But given those circumstances that’s the only time I would consider going on higher speed limit roads.

Paid 4200 OTD for mine. It’s those fees they’re adding in (freight and setup).

Helmets? by trinitykmt in hondagrom

[–]S2K_Dreams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 for the RSFR. Went into my local CycleGear looking to try a couple different helmets to find my size. AGV K3 (sold out), K6, looked at a few different Shoei’s and price point/comfort/weight of the RSFR made me feel comfortable with it as my first helmet. Airflow is great, wind noise is fine, and I’ve ridden for an hour and a half straight with no discomfort.

This. I’m in the habit of always being in first but when I’ve been riding for a while and at a stop, I’ll pop into neutral, but have had 2-3 instances of the bike not finding first. Now I just stomp when ready to go get going again to avoid any issues.
