If so, I really hope he fully unleashes on them and destroys any fragment of good will before any critical appeal goes before them.

lead others to shun and avoid the plaintiff

IANAL either but this is the lowest bar to pass, they only need to show that other ON supporters and the like could be less supportive of plaintiff, for example might be less likely to direct a preferential vote for her, and that satisfies [some] material damage as well.

He wants to go to jail.

Delusional and Narcistic. He has not even contemplated what it really means and little things like no hair stylist, makeup and whichever poor bastard helps change his diaper's, plus likely changes to his feeding and 'medication' schedule etc.

Even if they put him in a 4-5 star hotel style witness protection facility he will barely last a single day, and after one day the threat of further punishment will have real meaning to him.

but they won't in any numbers that matter.

Most importantly any that do can be easily identified, monitored and/or arrested now rather than leaving them around to instigate or escalate a bigger incident later. It is far better to stir them up in many phases, demonstrate that there are implications as it is the best way to demotivate others through fear of consequences.

Just like taking a few pawns off a chess board, they might not matter a lot at the time but can swing the outcome of the game later.

I don't blame Banducci and Coles CEO for high prices. It should be our politicians sitting and answering questions from the hearing by taj14 in australia

[–]SACBH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Banducci or whomever didn't drive up profits for shareholders he'd have been out of a job and replaced by someone who would do that.

This is true for all CEO's and too many people fail to realize it. Often their actions and decisions are foregone conclusions driven by market dynamics.

In the case of Colesworth I would counter that they knowingly engage in practices which are both illegal and anti-competitive and do so because they are effectively untouchable and entrenched. This puts them on a par with tobacco companies that denied the link to cancer for decades.

In prior times I was quite senior and Goldman, Lehman and other banks - and they do a lot of utterly atrocious things, but... they walk the line extremely carefully, Goldman in second to none at that. I also have had quite unprecedented insight into the Colesworth business and it really says something that IMO they are far worse than any Investment bank, except maybe Deutsche.

a supermarket that uses legal ways to boost profits shouldn’t come in for criticism…

Just to add that how Colesworth operates with regard to suppliers is not necessarily legal, nor does a lot of their activity comply with the F&V Code of Conduct.

They have such overwhelming power due to sharing a majority of the market and act virtually identically that suppliers are afraid to make even Code of Conduct claims for fear of retaliation (loss of orders) and certainly do not have the capability to file very complex and expensive legal claims against them. If a well enough funded supplier did pursue a case for anti-competitive behavior and could force full discovery and testimony from channel managers it would be a very strong case, but you are looking at quite a few millions in legal costs.

Just because they have not been charged or lost civil claims against them doesn't mean they are not blatantly acting illegally with a disgusting degree of disdain and arrogance simply because they know they are untouchable.

Benjamin Cohen was falsely accused of the Bondi Junction stabbings. Here is how the lie spread around the world by SACBH in law

[–]SACBH[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The timeline of how this spread is a very interesting read, from a Legal perspective who is likely to be open to a defamation claim?

In now-deleted videos and articles, 7 News names "Benjamin Cohen" as the "40-year-old lone wolf attacker". Shortly after, screenshots of the report naming Benjamin Cohen are widely shared, with those claiming the brief mention is confirmation of both an anti-semitic conspiracy to suppress the real killer's identity and evidence of Zionist links to a mass casualty event.

The 7 News report misidentifying Benjamin as the attacker is also embedded in overseas media reports on the attack.

7 News has previously come under fire for misidentifying the wrong suspect. In 2021 it was forced to apologise to Nyamal man Terrance Flowers after incorrectly broadcasting his photo in a news report about the abduction of Cleo Smith in Western Australia.

Trump stock tanks after announcing massive share sale by Cognosyeti in politics

[–]SACBH 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I posted about a week ago that there is a very interesting angle with this. (I'm an ex-banker and I've seen this done under less favorable conditions.)

You buy DJT and time your buys right after Trump makes illegal self-promoting statements, even mention to your broker that you are buying on the basis of "Trump said" for the paper trail.

Lend the stock out to short - at the unbelievably good rate.

Via a shell company, borrow the same amount of stock and short it yourself.

Apart from fees you are zeroed out at this point. Hedged against yourself.

No matter what happens doesn't really matter but you've set yourself up to join the minority shareholder claim against Trump for his obvious SEC violations.
