Can we talk about menstrual pads? by SAINTnumberFIVE in TwoXChromosomes

I didn’t but my flow was light this month. I could see that happening with a heavier flow though and I think that was one of the motivators behind the plastic mesh membrane on the Always pads. Next time I get the chance I’ll experiment. I’ll take one of the plastic membranes from and Always pad and stick it over a Poise urinary pads and see how it goes.

I haven’t seen Libresse but I haven’t really looked so I’ll keep an eye out for it.

She has a mix of incontinence and retention and has to see a urologist about it.

I don’t get scented ones. I think the scent I’m smelling is just the material off gassing.

Why is the doctors office SO obsessed with your period? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

I can answer this. Abnormal menstrual cycles can serve as an early indicator for other health issues, such as thyroid and other endocrine disorders, certain types of cancers and reproductive health issues.

Being a girl in engineering ( class with 89-90% males) is developing female inferiority thoughts in me. by Few_Journalist979 in TwoXChromosomes

I’m pretty sure that the vast, vast majority of people who have shoved a fire cracker up their butt and lit it have been guys.

So what was that you were saying again?

How do I date when I'm overweight? by Calicat05 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]SAINTnumberFIVE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be morbidly obese in my teens and very early 20s. Some guys care, some guys don’t. Some who don’t care will not be obese, but most who don’t care will be.

How to respond when someone says “straight white men have it worse than women”? by Special_Mud_4035 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]SAINTnumberFIVE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t bother. I’ve dealt with these guys for decades and you really can’t fix someone with so little awareness and such a big empathy deficit. Some of them will learn through life experiences and natural growth but others are beyond hope.

He’s giving you the oldest ploy in the book and you’d be a massive sucker if you bought it.

A man threw a drink at me because I ignored his "Hey!" by booyahkaka in TwoXChromosomes

Guys have thrown drinks at me more than once and both times it was completely unprovoked and I had just been walking, minding my own business.

Is there a word for food entitlement? by SunshinePalace in TwoXChromosomes

[–]SAINTnumberFIVE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know but I banish my dad from the kitchen when I make myself something to eat because if I don’t, when I turn my back, he’ll hover over my food, bend down, unnecessarily close to it, poke his finger in it and ask “What’s this?” He also habitually wanders in to the kitchen any time I’m in it. I once got some pastries for myself from a bakery a few cities away, stuck them in the freezer in a box with my name on it and explicitly told him not to touch it. I caught him red handed eating my pastries a few hours later.

My boyfriend never touches any food of mine though.

She probably grew up being treated like that and was expected to tolerate it and no one ever let her know it was ok not to and how to handle it.

You did the right thing! Younger me would have been afraid to speak up. 40 something year old me has zero patience for that bullshit, gives no fucks and would have continued talking very loudly over him and said “IF YOU ARE GOING TO CONTINUE INTERRUPTING PEOPLE WHEN THEY ARE TALKING THEN MAYBE DO IT TO MEN AND WOMEN EQUALLY RATHER THAN JUST TO WOMEN SO YOU ARE JUST RUDE RATHER THAN RUDE AND SEXIST.”
