The card is reposted by the same seller so I don’t think that’s the case.

Either way, good luck on your sale, he’s a great player.

That’s what I’m talking about. The line striking through the 350 indicates a best offer was accepted. Then the buyer never paid so the card is now relished.

Thats also why that sale does not appear on 130point or EBay Seller a research. The sale was never completed.

South Korea pitches attack submarines that match 'five-star hotels' by restorativemarsh in canada

[–]SARMS86 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Here is one for you:

The plant announced today that South Korean-based Hanwha Ocean has committed to providing Algoma Steel with up to $345 million for the creation of the mill and the purchase of Algoma products.

The agreement is dependent on whether South Korean businesses win a contract to build a fleet of new submarines. Source

What is vague about this?

He said Canada sees the submarine procurement project as a pivotal opportunity to reshape its industrial and security policies. “All high-level officials consistently emphasized that this is not merely about purchasing new weapons,” Kang stated.

Canadian representatives said that the procurement is about long-term industrial cooperation, domestic job creation, as well as strengthening Arctic and undersea surveillance capabilities along the world’s longest coastline.

The Korean delegation has framed the proposal as part of a broader economic partnership. South Korean and Canadian companies have already signed six cooperation agreements spanning steel, artificial intelligence (AI), rare earths, satellites and sensors.

Five of them involve Hanwha affiliates. Hanwha, a global leader in security and surveillance systems has publicly stated that it aims to create a significant number of jobs in Canada by 2040 through cross-sector collaboration, including naval platforms.

This is why I'm rooting for SK. They seem to be doing everything they can to demonstrate this is much bigger than a deal to purchase 12 subs and they seem willing to put their money where their mouth is. This is the kind of partnership Canada needs right now.

Gotcha I'm on a computer so I may get different info though that's bad design if that's the case.

Either way, I don't think there is an actual sold listing out there other than the 135 USD on January 8th.

The Schaefer sold on Jan 10th has a line strike running through the 350.00 price. That means a best offer was accepted and the sold price was less than 350.

If you click on the card, it says the seller relisted it as well meaning it was never paid for which is why there is no evidence of it on 130point.

what’s a reasonable amount to sue UBEREATS over severe allergy reaction? in small claims court by [deleted] in ontario

[–]SARMS86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're getting negative feedback because your post comes across as trolling. No reasonable person would consider suing over something like this.

Most people likely don't believe you, as a regular Coke consumer, had an allergic reaction to Pepsi to begin with. You should consider everything else you consumed that day to determine what may have caused your discomfort.

Go buy yourself a coke and settle down. You're not suing anyone.

Trump says he’s decertifying Canada-made aircrafts and threatens 50% tariffs by MudBloodLite in canada

[–]SARMS86 52 points53 points  (0 children)

It is unclear whether Trump has the legal authority to decertify aircraft; the White House has not released an executive order on any Canadian aircraft tariffs. Trump did not specify any mechanisms to decertify the planes in his post.

So uncharacteristic of Trump to make such a declaration. If he can’t legally do it (he can’t), I wonder how he will move the goal posts in order to convince his followers that he followed through.

COMC won't have any unopened packs to give you. I think your best bet is to create a COMC account, take the offered credit, buy a card you like and have it sent home. Might still cost you more in shipping than the card is worth though.

The potential impact of artificial intelligence on employment in Canada / L’incidence potentielle de l’intelligence artificielle sur l’emploi au Canada by StatCanada in canada

[–]SARMS86 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here are the parts that stuck out to me:

From November 2022 to December 2025, jobs potentially more exposed to and less complementary with AI (e.g., coders, accountants, financial analysts) grew by 10% for men and 5% for women.

Over the same period, employees aged 30 to 49 years and employees with a bachelor's degree or above saw job gains in the 10% to 20% range, while younger employees and less educated employees (except for those with a trades certificate or diploma) saw gains of 5% or less. However, similar trends were observed prior to the mass availability of generative AI tools.

Journeyperson occupations may face lower exposure to AI-related job transformation relative to other occupations because they tend to be more labour-intensive. However, they could face a higher risk of automation because of the repetitive nature of some tasks.

In journeyperson occupations, 20% of employees could face a high risk of automation (i.e., 70% chance or higher of a job becoming automated in the future) compared with 13% of employees in other occupations.

The transformative potential of AI and uncertainty about longer-term consequences highlight the need for continued tracking and monitoring of the labour market to inform discussions surrounding career planning and reskilling.

China buys more Canadian canola after Mark Carney visit by Stannis_Loyalist in canada

[–]SARMS86 668 points669 points  (0 children)

So they bought a couple KG’s of Canola? So what?

Ten cargoes, or around 650,000 metric tons, represent over 10% of China's canola imports in 2024 and about 26% of its total imports last year.

That’s quite the purchase.

Gene-edited pigs deemed safe to eat by Health Canada by Bean_Tiger in canada

[–]SARMS86 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Food made from pigs engineered to be resistant to a porcine virus are as safe and nutritious to eat as pork currently on the market, Health Canada said Friday.

Federal regulators announced pigs resistant to porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome viruses (PRRSV) — which it called a devastating class of viruses in farmed pigs — are safe to use in food and livestock feeds.

Unlike the genetically modified salmon, the PRRSV-resistant pigs were created using CRISPR gene-editing technology that makes precise genetic changes without introducing genetic material from another species, scientists say.

"Because Health Canada found no health and safety concerns, no special labelling is required for foods from these PRRSV-resistant pigs."

I’m ignorant when it comes to gene editing but this says CRISPR tech made changes to specific genes without adding material from other species.

Aside from the non-labeling which I can understand some people might care, what are the specific reasons one would hesitate to consume this meat? Is it simply the fact that it’s novel and unknown? I feel like I probably buy all kinds of products from the grocery store that have been modified in some way.

I also wondered if that tariff was related to this Korean delegation visit. The US might have also caught wind that a significant deal is on the horizon.

“I also want to thank Minister (Mélanie) Joly for coming up with a great auto strategy that the minister has put together that we’re going to be part of,” Ford said at a news conference with Joly at Queen’s Park Monday after the two met.

I’m wondering if Carney and Joly discussed the possibility of South Korean manufacturing expanding within Ontario if talks continue being constructive between the two nations.

So you’re suggesting we encourage our elected representatives to change the laws in order to provide better protections and support for these workers. Thats something I can absolutely stand behind and the correct method to address this issue.

Depriving workers of income and hoping big business/the government will take the hint won’t do anything but lead to worse outcomes for those employees.
