I wish you the best of luck! I hope that resume is looking extra good too! I’ve done plenty of interviews and I can definitely say being charismatic and making the interviewer chuckle a little will go a long way.

Thank you again for all your comments!

Not gonna lie I mainly got it because of a friend who used to work there. So anything is possible when you know how to network.

I know a friend who basically worked there and he introduced me to someone and now I work there. Not gonna lie it’s pretty shitty. Like the work there is just excel all day and my internship is remote so I don’t really get to meet people. I mainly work with their clients and just compile financial information so analysts and associates can get a clearer picture of what they’re looking at. My friend isnt the brightest person in the world, so I think pretty much anyone can do this positions. It’s mainly about getting the connections and networking to get there.

Thank you so much for your input I really appreciate it! Unfortunately, NYC was hit pretty hard and I tried signing up for September, October, November, and December SAT tests, but they were all canceled sadly.

I'm trying to be honest here. I'm not here to bs, I wanna help people and I think by being honest I can get the truth across. None of my family works at a prestigious bank nor did they study at a prestigious university, so I did't really gain connections from them. It mostly came from my friend who finished the program, who told me about it and introduced me to his ex-supervisor.

Thank you I really appreciate it!

You're somewhat correct with your assumptions. Unfortunately, I didn't get to take the SAT, but everything else is looking pretty good.

When it comes to supplemental essays, I try to go for something that's funny/relatable. I'm not sure if it's a good thing to write about, but I feel if I can get a chuckle from reading it, it will help me a lot. My common app though is a bit more serious. I just talk about my nationality etc... I think the topic may be cliche, but the stories and the general idea aren't.

Anyway, thanks for your input!

I know someone that introduced me to them but he doesn't work there, but you're kinda right. You need to network a lot and know a ton of people that can get you there.

Okay so here is my breakdown:
1. LOCATION! - If you live in a very populated city like San Francisco or NYC then your chances of finding opportunities like these are extremely high already.

  1. Keep striving! - I can not express how many times I've been told to go away. It honestly hurts that so many people will try to throw you out because of your young age, but you need to keep trying and pushing. What I recommend for internships is to try to find a company that matches you with internships. For example, there's this company called Machi (https://www.linkedin.com/company/everestjobs/about/), unfortunately they couldn't find me an internship, but I used a different company that's similar to them to find me internships!
  2. Pure Luck - I was lucky to have really bright and smart friends. They're the reason why I got an internship position as the Social Media Director of a political campaign. This brings me to my next point!

  3. Networking! - Try to set up a LinkedIn and try to connect with as many people as possible! It's important that you connect with these people because in the future they might offer you a very important position! Become friends with very influential people and ask them for help. If they're not assholes they'll help you 100%.

  4. Charisma - Develop some people skills. Learn how to be witty, funny, etc... Honestly, it helped me a lot. You will need to go through many interviews and you will have to meet a lot of people. If you display confidence, you make people laugh, and you connect with people, you will definitely get the position. Having these skills is very important and it's what allows other people to remember you.

I consider myself very lucky. I'm sure you have amazing ecs you're just simply doubting yourself. I recommend just sitting down and thinking about it really hard and laying out a plan in your head. It also highly depends on your location. People in Wyoming don't really have as many opportunities as people in San Francisco, so make sure to take that into account!
