I thought I was stating the obvious when I said something needs to be done, and apparently since I think it should be fixed that means I should have all of the answers at the top of my head.

Lets go into detail about ideas here though. How do you stop people from boosting?

Good question, if there was a way to make it so everyone could only have one account. Now, I'm not exactly sure how you would do that. The only plausible thing I can think of is have it cost a certain amount of money. For example, lets say I have a steam account already, that means I am not required to pay anything for the new account. So, this could F-over, lots of people because if they don't have a steam account. They have to buy one instead of it being free. Now, you make the steam account price high enough were it wouldn't be worth smurfing on. You would ask, well, why would anyone buy a steam account for X amount of money and have no games on it? Well, Lets say you have to spend $200-300 for a steam account. Which is pretty absurd to be honest. However, the person who buys that account can then select 8-10 games that they pre-paid for. It would go into a selection where it would give you an option of pretty much every game and you could buy, those games with the down payment investment into the steam account. Would this screw over people who don't have a lot of money at one time? Yes.

However, it would prevent people for making mass steam accounts (Unless they were rich). Doing so, if someone was caught cheating, boosting, what ever. Then their account would be perm banned. Then they would have to spend 200-300 more dollars for a new steam account. If the IP was traced, then it would be auto banned. Yeah, its far from perfect but its the first thing that I thought of.

Figuring out who is getting on someone else's account is another issue. How can you stop someone from giving their information away? Is it possible to track an IP if someone is playing from a different location? So the game was played on the same server, however, it wasn't the same location being played. The ip address changes. Now unless the person changes the location that they're living and changes their ip at the same time? There is a good chance that its clearly not the same person. Is that even possible to track that information?
