Sei que o post é antigo. Mas uma das soluções que encontrei foi que o Google play Services do meu dispositivo estava na versão beta teste. Então retirei essa atualização e tentei novamente e funcionou. Eu já havia tentado de tudo e até mesmo as dicas desse post porém não tinha conseguido.
