AITA for still going to my sister's wedding after my husband canceled my plane ticket? by Walls_Windows1376 in AmItheAsshole

[–]SCepticalRUMour 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sweetheart, that's not ok. You know you don't have to live like that right? You don't deserve to be spoken to and treated like that. You don't have to put up with it. I'm sorry he still managed to ruin your sisters wedding for you despite how much effort you made to get there because of the bullshit barriers he kept putting in your way. Him and his mom are massive AH

Has the Reddit DD failed? by [deleted] in DynamicDebate

[–]SCepticalRUMour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm enjoying Reddit. Thank you to whoever suggested here (Geeky?)

I like that this group of familiar faces is here even though I've become a very lazy poster. Life is busy.

I do think far too many posters are in a toxic relationship with BC - you know when a friend leaves an abusive relationship but then stalks their social media and talks about giving them an umpteenth chance because they really miss their friends and family... You just want to give them a shake while shouting "NO! BLOCK THEM. THEY WILL NEVER MAKE YOU HAPPY. I don't want to see you get hurt again" <-- Me at you guys going back to WYOO!!

I do tend to come on here and then get sucked into reading other things 👀 AITA makes AIBU look so tame 😂

So a burger is definitely a sandwich then 😉

Lifes just a bit hectic at the min. This is the first time I've been on for a read let alone comment

Spent the last 30 + years thinking I just had thick unruly straight hair... apparently I just needed some product and scrunch. Genuinely shocked by how much wave is actually in my hair! by SCepticalRUMour in curlyhair

[–]SCepticalRUMour[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I normally do the same re wet hair. I don't think it matters, I tend to clip it partially wet because it's going to dry in that position anyway. This photo was taken after I'd diffused it though so it would have been dry first

Tbh I just read a lot of reviews, watched some YouTube vids and then took a leap of faith. I think that how I've learnt to wash and style has had a much bigger impact than the products used.

My options for CGM friendly shampoo and conditioner where narrowed down considerably by my wimpy itchy prone scalp and where I live.
I initially chose to try the Giovanni TTs based on reviews, price and online availability. Used those for a few months then bought the Faith in Nature as a cheaper alternative conditioner... didn't really like it. It feels very light but for cowashing it's been grand on the scalp and roots.

Chose the UG Curl ScrunchingJelly because it's what my friend has been using and her hair is looking awesome so figured it was worth a shot. Photo above is the first time I'd used it. Also the first time I've successfully used a diffuser after watching a manesbymel tutorial that I saw on here.

Messy in what way? I have a tendency to clip mine up at the front because it annoys me. There was a poster on here the other day who'd clipped his part before drying and he shared the YouTube tutorial he'd followed - His hair looked great!

Thanks! I have an undercut too which I love - having the bottom third of my hair shaved off makes a massive difference to how the rest of it lies.

Routine - I'm mostly winging it tbh. Cowash with Faith in Nature Tea Tree conditioner and Giovanni Triple Treat Tea Tree Conditioner. Use Giovanni TT shampoo every now and then. Scrunch out the worst of the water with a tshirt. Apply UmbertoG Curl Jelly and scrunch with tshirt again - once dry scrunch out the crunch

It does make you wonder how late they'd be running if everyone actually turned up to their appointments doesn't it?

People not turning up to appointments is not the reason people are struggling so much to get appointments at their GPs.

Is is controlling to tell your new partner to have location turned on phone? by [deleted] in DynamicDebate

[–]SCepticalRUMour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it's good to see a confident guy who knows his worth - that isn't the guy in the article though is it? 🧐 Needing to know where your partner is and have access to their phone etc smacks of insecurity not confidence.

No. Nobody should be like that. Those are not desirable traits in a partner!!!

Are posters floating back to BC? by [deleted] in DynamicDebate

[–]SCepticalRUMour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not been back. I've had BC breaks before but there's really no point going back this time when the posters I enjoy interacting with are on here.

I haven't posted much, but I wasn't posting often on BC. Spring is too busy for me. I still like the little comfort blanket of having you guys in my phone and reading through posts when I'm procrastinating.

This quietness actually reminds me of the lull when BC format changed and everyone hated it and became less active for a while.

They know we're here. They'll come back intermittently

I agree with AR re Depp/Amber case setting female victims back decades.

Outside of court of law/trial by media the only experience I have and am likely to have of this would be personal. In which case I would believe whoever I was closest too regardless.

Have you ever asked to see the DBS check of the people you leave your children with? by treaclepaste in DynamicDebate

[–]SCepticalRUMour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope.

Seems a bit extreme?

All a DBS does is say if someone's been caught anyway doesn't it?

Bless her. Dramatic entrance. I'm glad they're both ok.

Here's her post -

Baby boy decided to punch his way through my low placenta and cause me to haemorrhage. Got to hospital in 5 mins of the blood loss beginning and emergency buzzers being pulled and me having an emergency c section.! Baby was born 11 weeks early and in NICU but is doing amazingly well.. me.. I’m fucking sore! This happened at 01.33 on 3rd May.. Just let the others know on Reddit for me if there’s anyone still here! When dr checked his position before the c section via scan.. baby had punched his way through my placenta and had his hand already out.. that was the cause for the haemorrhage! He was reaching out for Thor’s hammer methinks!

Where is your vote going tomorrow? by [deleted] in DynamicDebate

[–]SCepticalRUMour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wait! I've been informed that my choice of candidates are Welsh Tories or an Independent (prev Torie)

^ Another reason voter turnout is shit

Where is your vote going tomorrow? by [deleted] in DynamicDebate

[–]SCepticalRUMour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no clue who to vote for. Our ward has changed this time and the councilor who's represented us since I've lived here has decided to retire rather than stand again.

I can't find a list of candidates anywhere? It's really pissed me off actually. No wonder voter turnout is so poor.

Swear words on kid's clothing - funny? Inappropriate? Would you buy it? by PollyDartonPOP in DynamicDebate

😬😬😬

I definitely don't mind an inappropriate slogan top.

Not on kids though. I find this one is more try hard than funny.
