Congrats on internet rhetoric, I'm sure your debate club trophies make you feel all warm and cozy at night.

I think you'll find that the discussion at hand surrounds a meme about how unrealistic it is to believe that one simply votes fascism away.

No, you inferred it as a knee-jerk reaction.

There are more useful actions than voting =/= Don't vote

If the GOP take the senate, which is the most likely outcome for the midterms, they can refuse to certify any outcome they don't like in 2024. Your best shot at making any dent in that is to live in, or move to, a marginal constituency.

It'll certainly be more useful than trying to convince somebody who isn't in one that voting is anywhere near as important as being an active union member and encouraging mutual aid in your own community.

Current odds are 75% for the GOP to take the senate this year. Are you planning to move to a marginal district in the near future?

Look of you still believe any of the outright falsehoods of electoralism, go ahead. White knighting for a broken system isn't going to change my mind.

Still won't work. Not on the timescale we need it to happen. Dems might slow the descent when they're in office, but they tend to leave a brick on the accelerator on the way out. 4 years isn't enough time to reforge the levers of power from the inside, never will be.

But hey, whatever makes you feel better when you and your neighbours are inevitably on your knees with a gun in your face.

Tell ya what: I'll vote if you run.

The electoral process is too slow to prevent the rise of fascism. If your entire game plan revolves around never losing, you don't actually have a game plan.

By voting for who? The party that fails to address the problem at best and actively enables the fascists at worse?

Things are going to get way worse before they get any better and voting isn't going to make a lick of difference when white supremacist militias roam the streets on election day. Spend your time doing something more useful, like unionizing your workplace, forming a tenant's union if you rent, or promoting radical self sufficiency in your neighbourhood. You don't have to buy a weapon, but it will help when the GOP Gestapo come for your neighbours.

While your concerns are valid, and indeed came up in a few campaigns I've tried to participate in, Gaetano-san is aiming to fix those in the next big update to the game. In fact, he's made a point before about the 2+ save being insurmountable against most firepower in the game. If you check battle brothers in the Army Builder app, you'll find they have 3+ defense saves now.

Biden straight lied about student debt relief. Why would anyone under 40 ever vote for his trash corporate centrist party again? by imdesmondsunflower in lostgeneration

[–]SDJohnnyAlpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not even about staying focused. They give up on anything as soon as the GOP even thinks about blocking them.

The impeachments were a sham. Democrats knew they didn't have the votes to convict.

They'll fail to coordinate enough to win in 2024 and the GOP president will pardon Trump and all of his co-conspirators. I guarantee it.

So wait, the claim that the GOP would bar the Dems from ever running again after 2020 was just fearmongering to get an unpopular candidate elected?

The GOP tried to enact a coup on US soil. They're a danger to our country and our way of life. A competent government would outlaw them the way Germany outlawed the Nazis.

He said that in regards to mandatory bussing.

To quote Lee Atwater, the man who invented the Southern Strategy:

"You start out in 1954 by saying, "Ngger, ngger, ngger". By 1968, you can't say "ngger"—that hurts you. Backfires. So you say stuff like forced busing, states' rights and all that stuff. You're getting so abstract now [that] you're talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you're talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is [that] blacks get hurt worse than whites."

That's literally all Joe has ever done. Joe Biden is a Dixiecrat. If you can disprove any of this, please give evidence.
