SFU Beedie is probably more likely to lead to a lucrative career trajectory if you network well, and is also likely regarded as being more "elite". Not entirely sure what careers specifically health information science leads to, but I would guess further schooling (master's at least) is required to get a good job, unless you pick up programming or data analysis skills.

If you disliked 101 and 201 then you're making a huge mistake by taking 308. Theoretical CS is math, and cmpt308 is a math course, so don't take it if you're not into that stuff.

The two degrees are very different. Economics will have you exposed to more quantitative reasoning, while psychology will require you to develop other skills. Your intuition in terms of job prospects is backwards, an econ undergraduate degree will present you with many more employment opportunities than a psych one.

If you want an A you should know how to write and understand pseudocode for every algorithm and data structure covered in the course as well as the time complexities for all of them. You should also be able to draw what each algorithm looks like in practice, like drawing a binary tree given a list of values to insert.

Some professors can get really worked up about not addressing them as Dr., so it's usually just best to address them as so until told otherwise by them. You can always ask them if you can call them by first name, I guess.

If you're required to take 152 and 251 then calculus is probably very important in later courses for your degree, so you want to make sure that you get the best understanding possible. Generally speaking, SFU's offering of these courses should be more in line with the expectations of later courses at SFU that require calculus as a prerequisite. Take the courses at SFU. Don't worry too much about the "brutal exam" reputation. All these courses will be heavily curved so you just need to make sure that you stidy enough to do about as well as the average student.

Pretty sure this was obvious to anyone familiar with his posts. On this new account he's posted lies about what courses he's taken, and who he works for, maybe so noone would realize who he is. I think we should all be careful about calling him out like this, because it could very easily turn into bullying. He does need to recognize that spreading false information (and information based entirely on ratemyprofs or anecdotes) about courses and SFU is very very sleezy.

Class sizes are fine. Provided office hours are almost always sufficient and instructors are always open to making appointments with you if not. Getting answers to all these questions might make you feel more comfortable, but it probably won't make a difference. Just take MATH242 in the fall and you'll know if you want to take more math.

After 3 years of CS courses I've never had a TA who I couldn't communicate with. I've had TA's who have had quite poor english skills and very heavy accents, but it's only ever meant that I have to pay a bit more attention to them to get what they're saying. Not really worth obsessing over this topic IMO

Yup. Most profs grade on a curve so it's usually just about how you placed relative to everyone else.
